:D :D :D
I just was reminded why I love glitches of The Elder Scrolls series
So Skyrim
Character: Alchemy 100 with most perks, Enchantment 100 with most perks, Smithing 100 with most perks
Goal: to make the most overpowered weapons in existence (since armor is capped :/ )
Step1: hoard clothes, jewelry, ingredients, filled grand soul gems
Step2: make alchemy gear1>make enchantment potions1> make alch.gear2> make ench.potions2>rinse&repeat until high enough ench.potions
Step3: enchant smithing gear & make smithing potions with best alchemy gear
Step4: enchant weapons with best enchantment potions, then improve them with smithing gear&potions
Step5: Kick ass
Step6: Chew moon sugar
Step7: ???
Step8: Profit!

That was the plan

Now, I just finished step2, about to get to step3
Have 10 enchanting potions in my inventory (+~58mil% each)
Drank enchanting potion, picked grand soul gem, went to effect tab
AAAAAND
Game said big NO and dropped me off to desktop
:D :D :D still can't stop laughing
So what are your funny moments of messing with Elder Scrolls?

P.S. On the side note- what is highest weapon damage necessary to one-hit anything in Skyrim on highest difficulty?

Update1: when your overall smithing boost is 12mil%, improving gear is not possible (you can do it, but game does not register any changes)
Update2: when weapon reaches 750 damage, price becomes negative :D

Well I'm glad you're having fun with loopholes.

I, on the other hand, was rudely reminded the other day how buggy the Civil War questline is. Legate Rikke has completely disappeared from my game and I can't get her to reappear no matter what I do.

So, fuck, guess Skyrim's war isn't going to end any time soon.

Edit: Pssssst, probably a bad idea to bump your own thread.

My intent wasn't bumping, but rather adding information

Update3: Update2 was a mistake, price for daedric swords becomes negative not at 750, but rather at 750k damage. Crafting GUI only displays 3 digits. Thanks god for SkyUI, otherwise I would have no idea of actual damage :)

Ok, I'm pretty sure 500k+ is enough damage to rip the very fabric of Nirn in one hit, so I doubt I will update further.

Didn't they fix that on the console versions?

I know I did that in the PC version.
Because, you know, 1HK arrows are sexy.

No loss. The civil war line was just tacked on to the game. 90% of it is generic "go here and kill them" quests that were deliberately coded to play out almost exactly the same regardless of what side you are on.

The reason they made it so shallow is because they didn't want to make it lore. Because the civil war depends on player choice - Bethesda wouldn't really want to canonise one specific outcome. I guarantee in future TES games we will hear next to nothing about it and the pieces of information we do hear will be vague.

Sure. It's not like quests were ever Bethesda's strong point. Nor was giving the player the chance to mould the story. It's just frustrating that after a year and a half of official and unofficial patches arguably the second most important questline is still so very broken.

D'oh well. I completed it in another playthrough and I agree, unfortunately. It's a bit of a letdown.

Yeah, my about 5th character was a sorceror/blacksmith, and without alchemy, just blacksmithing and enchanting, it was overpowered enough. I had fun for a while, and it opened up using a lot of otherwise mundane weapons, but I was too powerful. I have heard of the loops, but never had the motivation to level alchemy.

Actually I imagine they will just have it cause a dragon break again like the ending of Daggerfall where both choices happen and there is no chance they will be able to ignore it since the next game is more than likely going to be about the Thalmors plan so it will happen not that long after Skyrim (Sometime less than thousands of years later).

OT: My favourite glitch is something hat I am still unsure how to replicate. Im pretty sure one of my mods accidentally causes it but I don't know which one or how it does it.
Sometimes the effect of preying to Talos either at a shrine or by wearing an amulet of Talos causes the 20% shout cooldown reduction to increase to 100% so that they never have cooldowns.

This of course leads to me getting around by selecting whirlwind sprint and holding down the shout button.

Are you sure it's only 750 damage? Because while it can't show more than 3 or 4 digits in the tooltip, the weapon damage can indeed go way beyond that (I've had weapons do more than 30k damage) with no negative price.

Oblivion the duplication cheat on the 360

Me and my friend decided to try fill a house with grand soul gems, we filled the entire bottom floor of the house up to the charterers knees with soul gems before the 360 decided it couldn't handle that many individual objects and crashed.

If you are talking about PC version, then open console, type: player.placeatme D0573 1
Press enter.
If you are playing on consoles, well, tough titties

Yeah I tried spawning Rikke. Multiple times. She seems to have multiple base IDs. All of them resulted in her just wandering around aimlessly.

Also tried:
waiting 24 hours. Couldn't be arsed waiting 30 days. Might just go and do a load of other quests and come back later instead.

Checking file integrity in steam (requiring a re-clean of the master files in TESVEDIT)

Leaving the cell, waiting, coming back.

using the console to fly around super fast between the camp and Solitude to try and see if she'd gotten stuck on the way.

Spawning dragons.

Waiting for a natural dragon fight.

Starting a fight in the camp (that was more for me, at that point, rather than a legitimate attempt at a bugfix).

Disabling unofficial patches.

Nothing worked
Blegh.

But thanks for making sure. I appreciate it.

GetStage Used to get the current quest stage for quest (use ShowQuestTargets for IDs).
player.sqs Used to display all the stages of a quest
SetObjectiveCompleted <1 to set, 0 to unset> Used to set the quest stage as being completed or uncompleted.
SetStage Used to set the quest stage (Useful for bugged quests)
CompleteQuest

I found those commands helpful when I got stuck with nightingale quest. If that fails you can try installing Unofficial Skyrim Patch (which you probably should do anyway)

CAPCHA: almost got it - see, capcha wouldn't lie

Again, unfortunately, this didn't work.

Sorry, I did try this one previously too xD. The only stage that works is 255, which skips the quest entirely, so there's no point:

http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:Reunification_of_Skyrim#Quest_Stages

All others do not work (or the ones I tried, I think I tried 10 - 101).

Oh, and the player.sqs CWObj only returns 255. Entering the setstage command for all others returns a "Stage not found" message, or something similar.

And I do have all the unofficial patches installed, along with a bashed patch. I can't be bothered disabling all mods and re-enabling them one-by-one to continue with this one quest.

I've... I've just found her... Swimming idly near the Dainty Sload. She then went and attacked a nearby mudcrab and walked off.

Fuck me, this game...

Then she stopped and stared into the distance. I Fus Ro Dah'd her and she's moving again.

Edit:

That didn't work. She eventually looped around, swam back to the port near the Solitude Stables with around 5 slaughterfish trailing her, and then ran back to Castle Dour and stayed there.

To fix the problem:

player.moveto 198BB (Ref ID for Legate Rikke)

- This teleported me to a poorly rendered mountain in the middle of nowhere, standing next to Rikke. However, on the map we were next to Pale Imperial Camp. But the quest marker told me to head back to Solitude. What the fuck? So:

tcl

player.setav speedmult 3000

- Fly back to Solitude. Ah, I see what has happened. Rikke is at the Pale Imperial Camp, but seems not to have left the Solitude cell somehow. The game appears to think she is somehow still in Solitude. Solitude renders perfectly, and it wants me to exit the gate (to get to the camp to meet Rikke, who hasn't been there). So I exit the gate, then re enter:

player.moveto 198BB

And she's standing in Pale Imperial Camp, like she should be, and I can talk to her and continue the quest for now.

Fucking hell.

It isn't a glitch as much as it is just a way to break the game. Getting 100% Chameleon in Oblivion by using grand souls with Chameleon on 5 pieces of armour. Nobody can see you. Not even yourself. You can run around, make loads of noise, attack whoever you want and they won't react because they can't find you. It does basically break the game. I can't see myself doing it ever again.

Also when training in Morrowind if you have an enchantment that puts the attribute for the skill you are training over 100 then you can keep training. I got up to level 100, had 100 in every attribute, 100 in all major/minor skills bar one and had 1000+ health. But it wasn't really that game breaking, needed a lot of gold to do it anyway. It was nowhere near as bad as the Chameleon thing in Oblivion.
