Trailer for sequel to best movie ever has been released.

Since I guarantee that nobody at this site will officially cover this story, I guess it's up to me to do it.

<url=http://www.escapistmagazine.com/forums/read/326.375364>The Scorpion King 3: Battle for Redemption was objectively, literally, and factually the best movie ever to be released. It's not even debatable at this point. And for a while there, it seemed like it would stand alone as its own entity. Sure, there was the original <url=http://www.escapistmagazine.com/forums/read/326.375114-2-50-Reviews-The-Scorpion-King-2002>Scorpion King, with a second film inexplicably missing from the planet, but it more or less worked on its own and didn't really relate itself with anything else in the "franchise."

Back in January of 2013, thanks to inquisitive reporting from yours truly, we were given confirmation that, maybe, <url=https://twitter.com/webstervictor/status/286906452076023808>a fourth Scorpion King would be in the works. Now, in October 2014, the first teaser trailer for The Scorpion King 4: Quest for Power has been released. In it, we learn that Mathayus (Victor Webster) is the only returning character from the last installment, and he will be placed in another adventure. Joining the cast are the likes of Michael Biehn, Lou Ferrigno, Rutger Hauer, Will Kemp, and WWE alumni Eve Torres.

Billy Zane, Ron Perlman, Krystal Vee, Dave Bautista, Bostin Christopher, and Temuera Morrison are not confirmed or rumored to reprise their roles.

The Scorpion King 4: Quest for Power will be released on Blu-ray, DVD, and VOD on January 20, 2015.

No Billy Zane, objectively the greatest actor in universes known and unknown from past, present, and future?!?

Doomed to fail. Don't get your hopes too high Marter for w/ o Zane, it can't be better than the predecessor.

We ... we haven't confirmed that he's not in it. So, what I'm saying, is THERE IS A CHANCE!

I've only seen the first Scorpion King movie... but considering the character introduced in The Mummy 2, there's going to be some point in his storyline where he makes a deal with Anubis to win a battle (or something, I forget what it was exactly) and gets cursed to become a monster scorpion thingy. I wonder if the Scorpion King movies will ever go all the way to that point?

For those who have seen the other Scorpion King movies, has that been foreshadowed at all?

I'm sure it'll be much better than he likes of Hercules Reborn. Or <url=http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1043726>The Legend of Hercules. Maybe not <url=http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1267297>Hercules, though.

2 out of 3 ain't bad.

I should clarify, when I mean Hercules, I mean this incarnation of Hercules http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0111999/ . How do you rate that?

I can't honestly say I've seen it, but I can guess that SK4 will be better based solely on SK3 being the best film.

There are THREE sequels to the original movie?!!
Dear god, what drugs are the people who make decisions in Universal studios on?

The film got a halfway decent following. Not enough for the studio to sign off on a theatrical sequel, but enough to get some cheap direct to dvd flicks made. This looks like it was made on a budget far south of a single episode of Game of Thrones, but there are enough fans remaining who will go out and buy this.

I think there might be actually four, I vaguely remember a prequel was made or something, although that might of just been the second one. I don't know.

Edit: Just looked the film up. The prequel was the second one.

Also, the third one had Rob Perlman in it for some reason.

The brief glimpses of CGI in that movie made the old Command and Conquer cutscenes look like Avatar (the James Cameron one, not the Shamallamadingdong one)

Still, the best movie experience I ever had was watching X-Men Origins in the cinema, so I can't judge.

I didn't actually dislike the original. It was serviceable, though I vaguely recall it. But to say that the story in it merited continuation?
That is something beyond my humble comprehension...

I quite liked the first movie. Reminded me a lot of the first Conan the Barbarian film, which is my favourite movie of all time (tied with Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom). Both sequels were really, really lame though. The third one was quite a bit better than the second, but that isn't exactly saying much now, is it? Not to mention these strange additions of horrible wrestlers who I guess were/are trying to follow in Dwayne Johnson's (who's the only decent wrestler-turned-actor I've seen) footsteps, but instead are sinking in his shadow.

I don't understand your love of Scorpion King 3. To me, it's like if someone praised the unholy hell out of one of the Starship Troopers sequels. Just.. weird as fuck. Lol.

I've never seen any of the Scorpion King movies, but this looks like the kind of bad movie I'd watch. I hope it comes to netflix/10.
