Home-made lemonade, they'll appreciate the effort.
I love me some jungle juice. Its cheap and tastes like kool aid(depending on how you make it).

Can't go wrong with good old ale. Brew it yourself if you want to make it really special.

If you want to get to know other dudes, you could get beer and harder liquors. For getting to know girls, get something with more flavor than alcohol. This can be done by mixing drinks in which vodka is an easy liquor for mixing.

I think I said it before, just get one of these bad boys for yourself:
You can also share what you don't need, since you'll be on the floor after half of that one unless you're an alcoholic.
Tip: Buy some cola (and lime if you're feeling flashy), and make Cuba Libre!

Bringing a bottle is a more personal thing, but bring a crate of beer and you'll be the best person in the room. Lookehere:

Dude: Who's beer is in the fridge?
You: Mine.
Dude: Is it cool if I grab one?
You: Yeah sure Dude.

They are then your friend and you are welcome to drink their beer at the next party :)

I would suggest a carton (4 6 packs, to a total of 24 cans) sit on it, offer a can to anyone awesome or cool looking who walks by and have a chat, you'll make friends quickly.

:) if you can't seem to make friends, drink 6 quickly (depending on your tolerance) grab the other 3 sixpacks and walk around demanding that people race you to the bottom of a can. You will make friends.

It works well here (Australia) I don't see it failing elsewhere.

I was thinking to bring 6 cans/bottles of carlsburg to have in my hand when I go, and bring the vodka for myself? Would I be expected to share? Would people ask?
That depends on how underage and incapable of getting their own alcohol the people attending are. Hopefully there will be loads of girls you can save from the curse of not being intoxicated. I think you can see how that could pay for itself.
I did have that in mind man... Not to be too creepy lol. No being honest id be happy if I even made a few new friends, id like to get to know some of the other prefect guys and gals a bit better. If it passes off without me embarrasing myself too much i'll be happy enough! theres about 50 to 60 going I believe

It depends entirely on the nature of the party (is everyone going to get drunk or will it be fairly sober?) and the people who are going students?/friends?/strangers?/Girls?/Blokes?... etc.. the composition of the party changes the whole ball game. However I would say these are general rules:

A) Try to coordinate with other party goers: 6 bottles of vodka is boring.
B) Bring more than you can drink yourself.
C) Find out what the host is providing in the way of mixers/ice (and glasses for that matter). I've been to "bring your own" parties where everyone brought spirits and no one brought mixers.
D) A medium case of premium bottled beer will always go down well.

Though like I say the nature and composition of the party is the most important factor. Students will drink pretty much anything and usually in large quantities, young professionals will drink much less and will expect higher quality, also girls drink like... well, girls i.e. very little but then the typically won't drink the same things as blokes.

In that case, bring beer. If you see someone looking unhappy and uncomfortable sober, ask them if they want one. Don't push them if they turn your offer down, though.

If you wanna make friends bring a bottle of jager and pour shots out wherever you go.
Whats kind of drink is that? is it expensive?
About ?20-25 for a 70cl bottle where I live.

It's a german liqueur, sorta syrupy in texture, and tastes like black liquorish.
I drank one yesterday. Cost me about 45? *sadface*
But yeah, bring jäger, and maybe mix it with red bull, if you're keen on seeing hyperactive underagers.

Cans of beer and bring the smirnoff too.

Make sure you have a couple of cans to make up for the fact that you'll lose a couple - either through your own drunkenness or because someone else has stolen them. Don't share or people will treat you as the drinks dispenser.

Smirnoff is ALWAYS appropriate
QFT. And if you don't think so, I'll take it off your hands now.

When I go, I usually take cans, because you can drink them all night, as well as being able to share and not look like a bastard.

I am a Zider drinker, east of the Zider Zee...

A few beers is a CERTAIN good idea. They're one of the best sharing drinks since anyone can just grab one and crack it open even if they don't want to get drunk.

I'd say a few beers and the Smirno, but it's your call since it is your booze =)

I'd say a six-pack of your favorite beer and a handle of your favorite hard liquor. If you don't like it straight, ask ahead and/or bring your own mixer.

I wouldn't bring too much beer. The good stuff's expensive, the bad stuff's gross, and everyone will be bringing it.

Personally I like bringing tequila. I love it, and it tends to be a conversation starter. If you want to go really wild, add some triple sec & lime juice and mix up margaritas.

Protip: Well-made margaritas are a great way of getting tequila into people that think they don't like tequila. Especially girls. Practice your recipe at home before the party to get it right, and serve with ice.

Depends if you just want to fulfill the minimum requirements then I would say get Natural Lights or the equivalent there of. If you want to have beer for beer pong then coors. If you want to have a social drink that you can sip on all night and not be shitfaced smirnoff ice. If you plan on wither getting hammered or playing some form of a party that isnt beer pong then either absolut, rum, tequila, or jacks
