Security, because the best way to help people ins´t fuck everything up (in Brink, anyway, I supported the revolution in Cuba, so you can call me a hipocrit)

1st play through...Resistance! They look more bad ass
2nd play through...Security! Why skip half the game?

Pretty sure the point of the story is that it is morally ambiguous. So to anyone saying you want to be the good guy, well, there isn't one. Which i think is great.

Security guy reporting in (because I always fight for what's good in this world... and I like clean clothing)
From what I understand, they're not exactly "good".

OT: Resistance, because they have better threads.
We're good from our point of view ;)

They are not like that at all actually.
Oh.....what are they like?
They are really just normal people doing their job. They believe that they are protecting the peace on the Ark and will carry out their orders to do it. In one gameplay video their commander gave orders to not shoot unless shot at and in another the security leader showed little joy about going in to rescue a hostage from the resistance. He wanted to get in and get out with as little fighting as was possible.

One of the key points in Brink is that neither the resistance or security are bad people. There is no good and evil. One side is fighting for order(unfair as it may be) and the other is fighting for more resource distrubition amongst themselves believing the founders are holding out on them.

The Ark is designed to hold 5000 people, not tens of thousands. There are not enough resources to go around for everyone and the founders are aware of that and acted as most humans would, in the best interest of their peoples. They give what they can to the resistance, but its not enough for them.

The resistance sees the security as unfair and tyranical and the security sees the resistance as terrorists fighting for anarchy. The lines of good and evil in this game are for you to decide.

Whichever one has the best looking customisation. That's pretty much what it all boils down to for me. Aesthetics.

I can't decide....... I don't like the idea of being an underling of an oppressive force.... But I do like some of their uniforms...

I can't honestly decide.
I just remind myself I am not the oppressor and it works for me.

Being the oppressor doesn't bother me.... I just don't want to be one of the oppressors mindless pawns.

Atleast I get some sort of feeling of freedom with the resistance... I think I'm gonna end up choosing them anyway. Resistance have some pretty awesome looking clothing and I get to express my unkempt nature with it. XD
Can't say I blame you. I will for sure have a resistance dude with the biggest beard possible. It just seems to fit the resistance better than the security and I do love me a good beard!

Ah that sounds pretty cool actually! Nice that they flesh out the authority side for this game: even more reason to don their uniform.

So, the title pretty much explains it. Which side will you choose in Brink and why?

I think I'm going to play as the Security guys to start. My friend wants to play for the Resistance. It'll make for interesting online games. I foresee him not speaking to me for a while. XD
I think we quoted each other earlier... as such I do believe I made it clear Im going to be Security.

You can't play both? Fuck, that was annoying in MAG...

Not sure as of yet. I'm tempted to play Resistance because they seem outnumbered and I'd feel like a bad ass, but I'll wait to see which one gets the better guns. Although if you can only pick one, I might end up choosing neither.
They both have access to the same weapons I believe. Just different clothing and weapons skins (Security have sleek and new looking, Resistance having worn and beat-up look.)

You can play both actually, it's just which you prefer or choose to to play first.

Alright, thank you both. Do you have different characters in each, or is it a universal thing?

They got better uniforms.
Exactly. I've always liked putting gas masks on customizable characters, and I haven't seen any Resistance customization options with gas masks.
