So far I have only ran into british kids on gta 4, but every time I ran into one they would always go on about how I was a stupid american, thank god for a mute button.

I've met a handful of British gamers on Xbox Live, and no offence, I've never met one on LIVE that I liked. Most I've met were on Team Fortress 2 (Xbox360), and were incredibly rude, the kind who would jump on me the moment I opened my mouth for being American, asuming I had an IQ of fifty, and calling me fat, lazy, the usual stuff.
The worst thing is though, they weren't the usual annoying thirteen year old, they all sounded atleast seventeen, maybe sixteen. I've just written it off as LIVE stupidity, though. I'm pretty sure that had I met those same rude punks in person, they would have been polite and friendly. Voice chat brings out the worst in people.

I feel the need to explain "Chav" to my friends overseas although I'm fully aware many of you know the term.
The Chav or Scally (Ska-lee) is the nadir of humanity. A crass, slothful, abusive, neolithic pox on the human race.
The Chav coupling ritual usually revolves around which girl the Chav male manages to impregnate first (usually while they are both within the early teen range) however, much like in the animal kingdom, this does not stop the Chav male from further diluting the gene pool via the many, many drunken one night stands he will probably embark upon during his lifespan.
Chav couples are usually to be found screaming at each other, usually in grossly innapropriate language which becomes louder/more profane in direct corrolation to how public the area they are occupying is.
Within earshot of this are their many Troglodyte spawn, not that they will care Mummy and Daddy are calling each other names usually reserved for the man who ran over your dog in a car made entirely from pictures of Paris Hilton and then raped the corpse, for they'll be too busy destroying/eating anything in the near vacinity. They are of course through a cycle of neglect and abuse destined to become their parents and thus repeat the endless cycle.
This quite heroic comitment to neglecting their children, each other and/or work can usually lead to the unholy combination of X-Box, alcohol, a pea-sized brain and too much free time.
Generally any Brittish arsehole you find on XBL is a Chav. I know this sounds like a mass generalisation but anyone living here (Britain) in this, year of our Lord 2009, can vouch for the sheer number of these shaved monkeys in tracksuits that seem to take it upon themselves to remind anyone within earshot of their guttural chest thumping that they are inferior in a stunning display of irony.

Eh, I'm English and I found that people on XBL especially are cocks, no matter where you are from. However when I used to play Halo 2 or, and this is quite strange, GoW there were SIGNIFICANT amounts of American cockheads who would go "Oh you are British, you can't play in our server" and then I'd be kicked, or someone would try to ridicule me for the rest of the match. The fact that I was actually really good at Halo 2 and GoW was the only thing which kept me in a lot of those matches, oh that and I can give big-talk as much as the next person.
I find people from outside America who can speak English don't care where I am from, and I don't care where they are from, but American seem to give a shit more about where you are from than what you are capable of in the game or what advice/tactics you bring to the team.

Britain at the moment is in serious need of death squads to purge this country of so many of the fucking parasites that infest it. With that in mind, it doesnt surprise me that we may have taken the "award for most annoying pricks of a certain nationality/gender/race/whatever" on xbox live at this time.
When I used to play xbox live, it was the "yanks" who were leaders in this area. I couldnt speak without getting abuse hurled at me 80% of the time because of my accent. "Blotty Wayunker" they would constantly say in their pathetic attempts to mimic an English accent. Generally though, Im of the view that everyone on this planet is a **** including myself, and the only ones worth speaking too are the ones who acknowledge this and try and make the best of things despite it.

yeah i heard some british players try an cause some trouble on XBL but you got it everywhere you go not just england you and u can always mute the people that get on your nerves lol so it dont really matter anyways lol xD
Reminds me of a couple of occasions on Live (Two COD4, and one COD2)
Cod4 (1)- Playing Team Deathmatch on Overgrown, someone kills me and I say something, this American guy Immediately pipes up and says "You're a british Fucker"
COD4 (2)- Team Deathmatch (Over a few games), This one American person making liberal use of the word '******', claiming he was going to slice one of the Watermelons on Crossfire everytime a '******' Spoke
COD2- Playing a Deathmatch when suddenly and American person says "You English people eat weird things like Crumpets"
Now, I havent completely lost faith in America, and most of them (say 80%) are good to talk to, but theres that last 20% who seem to want to make everyone elses experience on Live a living Hell, its things like this (and what KillerMidget posted) that has driven me away from using my headset while playing (Unless im with a friend) because I know that, at some point during the game, I will end up getting into a pointless argument with an over-patriotic American.
Im not trying to say americans are the problem on Xbox live, as The English and others are known to smack-talk, Just some decency is all I ask for

Being a British gamer myself I think it's no different from the American gamers, half of whom are posers and wiggers who love the word "******" way too much, and the other kind of people who while enjoy the Superbowl are pretty cool guys.
i've seen the opposite happen more Americas making fun of Brits their all bragging about the wining the revolution and saying wrong facts
