Had that effect in real life in Tennessee. Girls couldn't get enough of the Queens' English

and from what I've heard, Xbox LIVE has an awful community in comparison.
It is, I no longer use my mic, because whenever I speak, the American 8 year olds try and mimic it. Not that I can't handle the somewhat pathetic abuse, its just that when someone says "oh would you lika cuppa tea" over and over again, it starts to grate.

I'm an English gamer, and I've always had a relatively good experience on whichever platform I'm gaming on. You do come across idiots from time to time, but I don't think that's anything to do with their nationality. C**ts will be C**ts.

Maybe my experiences have been fortunate though.

There are wankers from all over the world, no one country has a monopoly on them. I guess as British gamers we are in a minority, so maybe you just take more notice when it's another Brit being a twat?

The difference in attitude between XBL and PC gamers is probably due to the difference in age demographic. Not many 14 year olds have a gaming PC, and lots of the older xbox players are put off playing with people outside their RL circle of friends due to the xbl community.

I'm British and even when I hear British accents they make me feel like someone needs to beat them. Usually.

But regardless, most people who use voice chat deserve to be beaten cos they're nearly always five year olds or douche bags. Weirdly enough, I usually only hear American voice chatters and feel this way..

It's only like 25% of the time when I hear voice chat and have a good time with the person using it.

Wow. I literally couldn't put up with that, and in my eleven years of PC gaming and using a microphone for about 6, I've never had anything similar happen to me.

EDIT: I was just thinking about it, and I rarely come across a kid on a microphone. Maybe one or two a month, maximum. Once again, it'll be the Xbox LIVE thing.

I only play on the Pc, and have not seen many heated arguments. There have been the accusations of hacker on CSS and general douchebaggery that comes with every game, but nothing to do with respective communities. It must be a LIVE thing.

I have met only nice, fun and skilled players from Germany across all online games. Its thanks to them I managed to get most of the harder acheivements on L4d, as playing with random people tends to have bad results.

As a Brit I can say that myself and all my chums are as pleasant as can be when gaming online.
I've met a couple of faghats in Gamerbase once or twice, but they usually stick to playing Street Fighter 4 with their idiot pals who can't manage anything more complicated than that.

As a british gamer myself i can say that i have never argued with anyone over voice chat, i've never even wanted to.

If someones killing me repetatively because i suck then i'm doing something wrong
If someones complaining i'm killing them because they suck i laugh at their stupid insults and kill them again as my reply
If someone is hacking/cheating/being a prat i move server or kick them if its my server.

Seriously?

Enter some American matches. They're actually all assholes. Atleast the English can be civilised with most other Europeans. Americans just fight with everyone for christ sake.

I just find this whole issue a real shame. Think back 10 years say. Imagine how people would have used this amazing oppertunity to speak to and interact with people literally all over the world. However, as it is people simply use it a place to be as rude as they like without fear of real conciquences.

Me: "Hey guys, lets have a good game!"
Everyone else on my XBL team: "I had a good game with your mother last night! Hurf Durf."

*sigh*

No, because I just go under the assumption that everyone is a fucktard until proven wrong (even then I harbor doubt about their non-fucktard nature.)

British people I just associate with jokes about silly things like tea time and monocles.
ummm how is tea time funny? Tea must be the best beverage on earth, or so says the twining tea box.

OT: yeah, fucktard until proven otherwise. British gamers im not too familiar with, the ones ive met are actually pretty cool guys
It is a time dedicated to drinking tea.
How is it not funny?
Dude, it's an entire meal, it's just named after the tea because it's the best bit.

I've heard that Brits get called "Britfags" a lot on XBL.
How original! >_>

Seriously, what's with adding fags onto everything? It's retarded. If you mute your mic, you're a mutefag. I've heard if you say you're gay you're a 'gayfag'. I just can't root for XBL when that kind of crap is prevalent.

Actually I never have tea during tea "time." Hell I usually call it supper anyway

I love playing with British gamers, sure I can't understand them half the time, but they are usually funny.
