You know, I can't remember ever having an arguement on a PC online game. All the ones I play are text-talk ones though (Final Fantasy Online, Q3Arena, Halo) so maybe that makes a big difference. I do on the odd occasion read/ participate in moaning about campers and snipers, but I consider these more of an outcry than an arguement.

I have come across the odd Brit who'll write 'wanker' and other British signature words but I often find them as written for comical effect rather than to offend someone. I wonder if other people see it the same way(?)

It is a time dedicated to drinking tea.
How is it not funny?
Admittedly I can't tell whether that was written as a joke or if that guy is serious.

I am a British gamer, I would like to think I am not an a**hole... on games anyway. For example, if we are playing L4D I will give you my pain pills and junk if they need them more than me... and I try to keep friendly fire to a minimum. :D

I've heard that Brits get called "Britfags" a lot on XBL.
How original! >_>

Seriously, what's with adding fags onto everything? It's retarded. If you mute your mic, you're a mutefag. I've heard if you say you're gay you're a 'gayfag'. I just can't root for XBL when that kind of crap is prevalent.
It's a 4chan thing:

I wouldn't stay there too long, it injures your soul...

I like to tihnk I'm like this, but doing nice things usually only annoys me when no one else does the same in return..

I've just noticed it's always British and American gamers that get talked about during these online games. Anghrist says 'idiocy is universal' but maybe it's just these two countries?

I'm british, but i'm young. It always seems to be the older folk 20 + who seem to get angry at the slightest things.

People need to learn to chill out in general

frankly, yeah i do think that when i hear a british accent, but that's just a feeling i get through my past expiereinces (sp?) with them (kind of like how athiests always bash me for being cathloc, but i can sympothise because everyone of us in the news is dicking around outside an abortion clinic or something). but then again just about EVERYONE i've heard with a headset on xbox live is a ****

Its Microsofts fault i say, they added a headset to the standard 360 package so everyone has one, with PC gaming you have to spend extra money buying a headset (something i want to do by the way if anyone has any suggestions of a nice cheap decent pair) which means that only people who are serious about playing bother getting a headset and those are the people who are normally the best to play with.

What the hell? Are we talking about the British or the English here?
I'm not English, but I come from a place where everyone speaks with what sounds like a very English accent. I usually get accused of being British, which sucks, because then I feel like I have to join in the race war.

I think anyone that starts that "My country is better then yours" bollocks should be deported to the other persons area, makes things a little more interesting.

I'm young too but I find the idiots arguing are normally younger than 20, and sometimes younger than I am.

I find 'fag' a weird insult anyway, i'm English and 'fag' is slang for ciggarette, not that I hear many insults anymore as i've lost faith in human kindness and don't even use my mic. I think the main problem is all of the 10 year olds playing, no offence meant i'm sure some 10yr olds are fine but why are all of the ones online so angry all of the time they swear when they win, they swear when they lose, its a constant stream of abuse from the moment they join the lobby until I smash my mic up out of sheer frustration.
(I'm sure they aren't all 10 but its roughly that age that seem to be the problem)

I like British accents. Even so, I don't really care who I'm playing against or with; it's all about killing for me.
If anything, I find Americans to be more annoying (and I'm from the US)... I haven't heard a British person argue on Xbox Live yet.
