Good luck to you all, its only getting tougher and tougher year by year to get into University, but aparently exams at A levels are getting easier, which eventually will only lead to decreased value at A level stage as more people get higher grades and want into Uni's who are already short of places.
Seems like a bit of a downward spiral to me, get in while you can, or keep your fingers crossed that you will be one of the lucky ones..
Makes me glad to be in my second year at Uni :)

AS's

History A/C = B
Eng Lang B/D = C
Biology D/D = D
Chemistry E/U = U

I've dropped Chem, and I'm gonna do a few resits do bring my grades up, so things should be alright.

I decided not to go to uni before my results..good job too! DDUU were mine. Right now I loathe those people who moan about the exams being too easy or saying "man I did sooo badly I only got Cs".
A levels are hard!

They bumped both of my coursework grades down, I got CDD instead of BCD >.> Lucky I'm not depending on grades for college I suppose...

I agree, the people who say those things have no idea generally. Also, has anyone noticed that last year the news concentrated on how easy they were, yet this year they're going on about how its the governments fault all these gifted young people cant get uni places?

On topic: B - Photography
C - Media
C - Film

Before anyone claims that these aren't 'real' subjects, the amount of theories, names and dates you have to memorise are hideous.

I did what the OP said and gave my results to a hobo in the street, he tore them up into two and ate them.

Thankfully my UCAS letter already told me I'd gotten into uni so I'm not that bothered.

(not to mention the phone number of a cute lecturer!)
wow. I would totally date a lecturer. I mean they have to be set for life in that career path right?

"Where do you want to on holiday this year dear?"
"Jamaica?"
"Jamaica it is. By the way how is the job hunt going?"
"ooooh, not good I'm afraid."
"Oh well never mind. Get set for Jamaica!"
"I fucking love you money. I mean honey."
Well there is that, but he's mainly just really cute! I don't really care about money, not a priority, he's just smart, funny and gorgeous! And while there's not actually anything going on with us, he has asked me to go and see the stage show, Quadrophenia, with him...Things are looking up!
Hey I'm going to see that with a few mates on the 26th! Liverpool Empire? Awesome I love little coincidences like that.

Also if anybody cares, I got myself:

Literature: A
Theology: C
Chemistry: E

Fucking ACE! (only regret is the E in my ethics paper ruining all that philosophy ;_;)

Are you touchy about the subjects you've taken, or can you take a comment like: "Granted, they might be actual subjects, but would you compare the difficulty of their content to say that of Chemistry, Biology, Physics or Maths?"
Not at all, I accept that they aren't the hardest of subjects, I am sorry if thats how I made it sound. I just get annoyed when people disregard them completely.

the hardest thing on results day is over-achieving and trying to work out how to talk to someone who has done badly.
Is it ?
Really ?
That's the hardest thing ?
I'd think failing everything would be the hardest thing to be honest...

Awesome, it should be pretty sweet! I'm not going on the 26th though, I'm going to see The Offspring in Manchester on that day. We have yet to work out when is going to be a good day to go.

Well done with your results!

Failing everything is pretty easy... ho ho ho.

Seriously though, the hardest part is the hangover. *shuffles about in the dark*

Why are all you guys happy with C's and B's? My parents will probably kill me if I get a single C in my GCSEs...-Facepalm- Even in art, God...Kill me now, I'm going to fail maths like hell.
Because A-levels make GCSE's look piss easy. Seriously, I just did a chemistry GCSE paper for a laugh and got 100%. I got a U in chem this year. A levels are nasty.

I took my A levels last year...I failed everything, but that only spurned me on and now im in a specialist art college, one of only four in the whole country. So to everyone who didn't get perfect results don't worry! There are still options for you other than becoming a plumber lol

General Studies - E
Oh come on! How do you get an E in General Studies? It's like a test on how well you can read.

It's the Fisher Price's My First Exam of subjects.

You know, I thought that too. Throughout my entire GCSE year I was getting marked D's and E's on my practise papers.

Then I got an A as my final grade. And then proceeded to drop all real maths subjects (Computing doesn't count) when I started my AS levels.

Well done to all you folk for passing your exams. I did my highers last year and wasn't that disappointed myself (got what I needed to get into college and now I'm going to university next month!).

Remember, freshers week stay sober and take peoples wallets!

How?? You don't do a single lesson all year on it and then have to sit the exam anyway, that's how XD

And one of the main questions was a MATHS QUESTION. MATHS IS MY FUCKING NEMESIS. Omg it almost killed me D=
