I could and have lived on PB&J sandwich's. As soon as I try and put anything else on though I can't eat it. This is because you can't alter perfection.

A healthy kidney can bring in 25g. Afterwards you eat what you want.

I'm at University now so I get a lot of this. As a vegetarian things are generally quite a bit cheaper.

Usually my 'scraping the bottom of the barrel approach' is ridiculously cheap instant ramen (9p a pack?) with peas and a lot of soy. Alternatively, toasted sandwiches are great - a personal favourite filling is chocolate spread. Another great thing to do is onigiri (rice balls), with whatever sweet/savoury filling you can find. Some fruit is suprisingly good, or even some wasabi and ginger, though the last is pushing on the expensive side over here in merry old England.

Siphoning gas will help you retain enough money for food. But cup ramen will usually be a good amount of food for the money you'd put out for it.

Cheese and spinach pie.

Seriously.

Cheap. Easy to make. Easy top clean. Filling. Tasty. Good for you.

Another favourite of mine that takes a little longer, but definitely worth the effort is making pizzas with pita bread. Take a full Pita... add pizza sauce, meat and veggies and load with pizza cheese... turf it in the oven. It's awesome, but not a fan-favourite if you're playing with friends online and ask to take a food break lol
Mmm...I say, I've stolen that recipe. Sounds delicious, I don't game and snack much but I'm always eating when I'm online and this sounds perfect. Thank you. :3
Oh and liking the avatar! :3
Thanks! You won't be disappointed by the pita pizza... keep an eye on it, it can burn pretty quick.

As for the pre-made burrito... awesome idea... I do that with Chili.. Spend about 40 bucks, eat for a week... when remembered to put in the fridge. I hate when my food transforms and I'm staring eye to eye at a monster of my own creation and lack of attention.

Speaking of Ramen... is there any 'flavour' that actually tastes like what its supposed to?

I can't stand ramen, stuff is so full of salt it makes me sick ><

Good ol' minted sugar snaps is usually what I'm munching on while gaming... or too poor to buy anything else.

I always preferred hot dogs in mine. Raman is my personal quick favorite, I add some dried mushroom and green onions for extra flavor.
Fucking A buddy, i've gone from broke college kid to broke kid w/ half a job that lives with his folks and is barely able to scrape by money-wise, and ramen-noodles are what keep me a-float! I eat em' everyday, 2x's a day, 5 days a week(i don't eat 2 days out of the week)...
it's a great diet and ramen is the most amazing easy to make diner! we should patent the top ramen diet: The Collegiate Lifestyle Diet.

You're talking my kinda language right now.

Microwaved or in the pan, final choice?

I hear ya.. I've gone from broke college kid, to regular force military... and still eat poor college kid food... even though I don't have too... it really is just easy math.

Ease of Prep + Difficulty of clean-up - Taste and Fulfillment of meal = Is it worth it?

:)

Microwaved, I know, I know lazy.

But another way involves breaking the noodles first, adding chicken stock and throwing the sachet, pouring it all into a big mug and voila'. Perfect meal for when you're ill.

Microwaved makes them the best way, if I'm being honest. The pan can go horribly wrong.

I'm going to steal that idea, someone should make "The Escapist cookbook" with approved recipes.

I would, but since I like making noodles in the microwave too... Obviously I'm far too lazy to fulfill that promise lol.

I was going to say, mainly as I've never had the courage to try them in the pan. I mean, what if those delicious noodles fuck up and I have nothing to eat? XD

Feel free to, It's a beaut. Sometimes adding a tiny bit of garlic can do wonders.
Hmm...I smell a excellent helpful thread possibility here.

It's when they don't boil off properly and they just stay really, really soggy. Ugh.
Bad mojo jojo, I'll take my nuked to perfection.
I could eat bowls of them all day, guess I'm a cheap date then xD

Definitely no garlic, no. Just no.

*wafts thread idea*
I have given you the dough O'Bakie wan Cooknobie, run wild.
