The fuckin Sword (fucking LOVE those guys!)
Me too, man. I just picked up Gods of the Earth - great album, been spinning it nonstop. The song "How Heavy this Axe" would be perfect for BL! After all, Eddie wields an axe, and the song also makes references to bloody battle and mighty gods (like the gods whose relics litter the world of BL).

Hammerfall and ManOWar, they should have added in the songs "Sons of Odin" and "Emerald Sword".

Oh yeah, and no Rhapsody? While not technically metal, I know a song or two that could have fit in the game.

I see KMFDM being referred to as Industrial Metal, and if that is the case, I would have loved to see something from Nine Inch Nails on there, but you can't have everything.

There's only 1 Anthrax song (!), no Iron Maiden, no Pantera, no Metallica... just a lack of old metal in my opinion. I'm not to sure about KMFDM either.

But still, awesome soundtrack for the greatest game in the universe.

Some obvious misses that have been mentioned (Maiden, Amon Amarth) but I still think they did a good job overall.

Way to skip the shitty nu-metal, Brutal Legend.
A complete lack of white zombie and the only Rob Zombie song(from what I've read) is super beast which although good has been played to death. The song they absolutely needed though was Iron Head A Rob Zombie song with additional vocals by Ozzy Osbourne.
Specifically though I'd like "Feed the Gods", "Blood, Milk And Sky", "Creature of the Wheel","Warp Asylum and "Welcome to Planet ************/Psychoholic Slag" at least one if not two of any of those songs would have been awesome.

Me want Corrosion Of Conformity. Wah.
Yes, some CoC would've been killer. "Broken Man" or something similarly nice and heavy.

Some High on Fire would've been sweet. Led Zeppelin and especially The Sword would work really well with the fantasy metal vibe that BL has going on.

Still, it's a bitchin' soundtrack as it is. Sooo much better than so many other games.
There's a guitar solo in-game that brings down a flaming zeppelin made of lead to fucking utterly destroy every enemy in the vicinity. There's no excuse for them to not get some Led in there, apart from Jimmy Page being an ass.

Yeah, dude, I just heard about that. It's awesome, can't wait to try it out. The solo is even called "Bring It On Home", heh (the name of a Led Zep song).

I've used it a few times, and it's pretty awesome. I never notice the blimp crashing, and I never saw too many enemies dying, but I was always using it when I was either about to win and focusing on destroying the enemy stage or about to lose and was screwed no matter what sort of miracle I pull out of my ass. Maybe when I find the tab slab in Campaign I'll try it out in some sort of empty field.

The complete lack of Ronnie James Dio in any band (Rainbow, Sabbath or solo) is a travesty. I also found the lack of Helloween to be disappointing. It would have been nice if they represented folk metal and neoclassical metal as those are two of my favorite post NWoBHM styles (along with power). I think it would have been good to represent late 60's through 70's proto-metal hard rock. Stuff like Blue Cheer, Deep Purple, Queen, AC/DC, and (again) Rainbow. Those bands were so influential.

It's hard to complain too much about the setlist, because for every travesty like the omission of Metallica or he inclusion of jokes like Deathstars, there's a Slayer and a Mastodon there to cover it up. All in all, it puts Guitar Hero to shame, both in quality and in size.

EDIT: Just noticed a lack of Pantera, which surprises me.

It's missing some more Doom Metal.. I'd add Cathedral to it.
Either way, if there's a song(s) I would want to hear while playing this (I'm not going to play it), I would just connect my MP3 player to my 360 and listen to what I have in there.

I maybe like four or five bands off of that list, so eh. It's good that it has Carcass and Skeletonwitch on there, though.

It really sucks that you have to unlock some of the songs.

Where are Carcass hiding????
On the list? They have "No Love Lost" from Carcass' Heartwork album. It would have been better if it was from Necrotism...
