Bullying in one form or another exists in every culture in humanity. It's our species nature. Deal with it. Kick some bully ass or go cry in a corner. Dealing with bullies is a life skill. They exist in the corporate world as well. It's best to experience bullying while in academia to prepare you for the real world.

A fair portion of the user base of this site is either a furry, steampunk, brony or some sort of meme spewing shit-fer-brains internet hipster. They either have been, or current are, being bullied.

They will not like this topic. I can see it now. Bulling = murder. Murder is bad. bulling = bad because murder bad.

Lets see...
rape exists in one form or another in every culture.... So does abuse, murder, theft and so on. Now, and I might be a simple man, but looking at the world, I see there are some cultures with a lot more of it then others. The ones with less of these problems are better off then the ones with more, and the ones with less of these problems show that even if you HAVE to say they are inevitable, the amount of it happening can be reduced a hell of a lot. Hell, it is almost like the more advanced a culture gets, the less of that shit goes on as the society realizes that such behavior is self destructive and damaging to it as a whole and that damaging people has a negative impact on the society when they grow up into damaged adults.


Buuuuut... please, do go on about how macho you are and how people bullied just need to toughen up. Hey, why not go one better, abused people just need to toughen up too, right? And children being raped, why, it must just be because they aren't defending themselves right. I mean, it isn't like physical ability, social construct, mixed social messages about not being violent, having someone in power protecting the bully or countless other aspects of legitimate detail that makes cases actually unique would ever factor into this. Nope, just 100% some poor scrawny kid who can't defend themselves....

So the solution here is to just keep it going until someone's dead? Kind of...not very intuitive. People who think bullying isnt a problem make it look like a simple problem and the rest of us just aren't getting it.

I never said it wasn't a problem. I simply think that self defense and violence are vilified too much. Bullies love to dish out pain but can't ever seem to take their own medicine. Remember Ralphie in A Christmas Story. He beat the shit out of Scud Farkas. He's one of my hero's.
