And it happens when Activision are in the news for all the wrong reasons ("Activision Slapped With Another Infinity Ward Lawsuit" - article on front page).

I wonder what the terms are for Bungie to even consider cooperating with such a presently controversial publisher such as Activision... that or Bungie are barking mad.

Aw, I really liked ODST. Might have had something to do with the voice talent, but I enjoyed it more than any of the previous games.

On topic, this doesn't sound good, especially after the debacle with IW.

MASTERCHIEF, TAKE OUT THAT WARTHOG WITH YOUR SPARTAN LASER!!!!

Ahhh...
However, I see potential goodness coming from this partnership.
as long as it stays a partnership they should be OK
I ment untill Bungie is eaten whole. Then, once Activision has consumed enough companies, it will turn its eyes to Blizzard, and the true battle can begin.
i will get a army together to see that neither of those ever happen I'll die before i see either of them die
i love bungie and blizzard

I sense a disturbance in the force.
I doubt that Bungie is in any form of danger though, unless Activision is attempting a merger. (then they are in real trouble)

Hehe, maybe I was (a tad) harsh, as ODST was fun... but not too memorable. But still fun :)

Haha no need to explain dude, I know the majority of the Halo fan base were quite 'meh' over ODST, but I loved it for the amazing similarities between each of the characters voiced by the actors of Firefly/Serenity and the fact their characters in ODST echoed their characters in the show x)

So xbox just lost its biggest exclusive franchise? Fuckin awesome Activision!!!
Sadly no, Microsoft still controls the Halo franchise. They just lost the developers.

I expect they'll fare batter than IW has, not least because Activision isn't taking ownership of Bungie (and after Bungie's Microsoft owned spell it's unlikely they'll ever let a publisher take control ever again) so they can't hire and fire.

Interesting to see where Bungie goes now as far as games.

Holy crap. I'm not sure I believe it, even seeing it on Bungie.net with my very own eyes. Well.... this is unexpected to say the least.

Don't you people think you are jumping the gun a bit?

Sure its a step in a different direction, but who knows?

It might become something awesome.

Does this mean that Bungie are making Modern Warfare 3? (joking)
Although it doesn't sound right somehow. Especially since Bungie's post keeps talking about their freedom, and desire to enjoy making games, despite Kotick having gone on record as saying he wants to take the fun out of making games. The was I understand it though, Activision only have any control over this mystery new series being developed, and not over Bungie as a whole?

And whilst I understand that Activision will be able to finance Bungie's long term goals, I feel that you are frighteningly right Furburt: Activision easily have the financial weight to 'acquire' Bungie with a forceful takeover if they desire. And as you said, we can kiss goodbye to their creative control...
You don't have to worry about a hostile takeover, since Bungie is privately held. Only publicly traded companies have to worry about being bought out against their will. Still, Bungie's private owners could get greedy and go public or even sell to Activision.

Good riddance Bungie what...all they have ever made are those balnd Halo games. Maybe once Activision screws up their fan base and runs it into the ground we can finally stop this Halo nonsense.

I was always kind of indifferent about Activision until all the stuff with Brutal Legend and raising the price for MW2 (before they said anything about the lack of servers). And when they merged or whatever with Blizzard I disliked them more (hate Blizzard). And now this... Never really liked Bungie either... so... Activision is going down a bit further in my book now.

So, they've moved from the slightly evil and occasionally stupid Microsoft the extremely evil and often stupid Activison...wise...
