The only thing I see wrong with this is that they were to young. Pornography is a great way to teach about sex (not the bad stuff). I feel as if my school should use pornography to teach about sex rather than shy away from it. They always leave it until the end so that we run out of time to learn about it. A porn video will get weeks of teaching out of the way so we have more time to learn about other things. Also, when you teach sex to someone make sure you teach them foreplay so that they know what they are doing. Schools just zoom in on the sex part, not what happens before and after.

Possibly. Also, I get annoyed when people start misinterpreting any sort of article. When you take one liberty, it encourages more, which leads to a complete scewing of the facts.

Also, if people think it was a male child, they will be far more inclined to start spewing "Yay, let the little guy watch porn, he'll do it anyway." Which is just annoying for anyone actually wanting to discuss. For some reason the fact that it's girls is more likely to make people react in horror and fear.

As to the OP: Hardcore pornography is legally restricted to 18 year olds where I'm from, and I thought that the law in Texas would be the same.

So yeah, he is breaking the law (as I understand it) by showing them something for which they are not legally viable, same as if he showed them anything else 18 rated.

And 9 is probably still too young to be learning about sex (as in intercourse etc), though that might be my old conservatism talking.

I doubt it. Wait until your kids are aged double digits before talking frankly about the more, uh, "intimate" details.

What about R rated movies and M or AO rated video games? And those aren't even for the acquisition of knowledge but merely for entertainment purposes only. So do you have a problem with underage kids enjoying those things? If there is no pervy intentions behind the father's actions then I don't find it too terrible. Sex is sex, whether you actually watch it on some out dated educational video or program or a movie with fancy angles and music in the background it's still the same. No matter how morally obligated on feels to point out the contrary.
