I got a 3ds about 2 weeks ago. I have Fire Emblem and Pokemon black 2 for it, both of them are great. Although the older FE game are a bit better, this one's still good. Black 2 is the best pokemon game in quite a while.

Some other recommendations people gave me that I haven't got around to getting: The Profesor Layton games, Monster Hunter, kingdom hearts, Devil Survivor 2, Tales of the Abyss, and Theatrythm Final Fantasy. I haven't played them so I don't know how good they are, but I'm told they're all great.

Only tip: Dont buy anything anymore from Nintendo, the have gone downhill after the DS lite. Especially with the down fall of there games.
How so?
Well the Nintendo company is kinda running short on ideas, as you can see with the new Mario games.
Not only the Mario games of course also an good example are the DS series, I mean its cool and all but we don't really need the 3D thing and it can actually start giving headaches. I think that the first games of Nintendo wear great! But the new ones are kinda reaping what the old ones did.

Yes, because Super Mario Galaxy, Skyward Sword and DKCR were such terrible, terrible games.

Also, correct spelling is a thing that's happening.

OT: Super Mario 3D Land is meant to be all kinds of fun. It's by the same team that did the Galaxy games, so I can believe that.

I've also heard good things about Nano Assault. If you're into shmups, then by all accounts it's meant to be a great entry into the genre.
If you really are trying to prove a point don't go hating on me just explain what your side of the story is, also I dint say anyone is stupid and anything about gramma so don't know where the 'Also, correct spelling is a thing that's happening.' as I cant do anything about my spelling at all because I am not English and dyslectic.

Yes. Don't.

Hilariously outdated with the invention of the smartphone, games are ridiculously overpriced and honestly still mostly pieces of shit. There are *free* smartphone/iphone apps that give hundreds of hours of enjoyment, or you could be a sucker and drop hundreds of dollars on a 3DS, and $30-40 per game on titles like Star Fox the Re-release of the Re-release or Pilot Wings the Re-release, both of which offer maybe 5-10 hours of enjoyment tops (and that's with a lot of fucking replaying Pilot Wings, because that game is short as hell).

All in all, 3ds is a waste of time - a relic of an older generation, still flailing around trying to catch up with what the PSP had last gen, but without realizing that the PSP was *also* a huge failure and that gaming-dedicated handheld devices are simply falling farther and farther behind phones that can play a wider range of better games for less money.

Oh, and 3d is still an awful gimmick that offers no gameplay depth to any of its titles to date.
In the end, it's not about the system, it is about the games. The 3DS has a superior library of games compared to that of the PS Vita and the Wii U. Both are technologically better than the 3DS, but I don't care about that if they don't have good games to play it on. I for one am enjoying my 3DS, and it's not like you can't turn off the 3d. Is it outdated technology? Mmm, maybe, but doesn't technically make it a bad console.

And apparently you haven't been keeping track of the 3DS's library, because while there were remakes on the 3ds at launch, there are a ton more better titles out now, with more on the way, such as Monster Hunter, Pokemon, and Fire Emblem (which was released today).

EDIT: Also, I really don't see how you can go wrong with the 3DS in terms of a portable console. It's cheaper than the Vita, more portable, has backwards compatibility with DS games, able to browse the internet (netflix and such), play music, take pictures, etc. All of that with a better library of games....the 3DS is obviously the sensible choice. Unfortunate to say, but I believe your opinion is definitely the minority around here. And the only people I know that hated the 3d on the 3ds were people who didn't know they could turn off the 3d, with no sacrifice to the graphics (which are btw, are just fine for a portable console, graphics and technological prowess isn't everything).

So with the announcement of Pokemon X and Y, I finally caved and decided I will finally scrounge up enough money to buy one. Considering Nintendo has a good track record of getting plenty of games, specifically RPG's into their library (which I love), I think it would be a good long term investment compared to something like the technologically superior PS Vita, and the Wii U, which of course has barely anything out at the moment.

So to the 3DS owners out there, can you suggest me any good games? I mostly like RPG's, Strategy, and Action games.
In April Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Summoner: Soul Hackers is coming out. Etrian Odyssey 4 later this month. Just looking good in general for the 3DS.

I'd have to say, DON'T get Metal Gear Solid 3D, unless, you're willing to buy the Circle Pad Pro. The camera controls without it just make the game unplayable.

Rune Factory 4, this summer. It's a farming/social sim crossed with an action-RPG and a deep crafting system and it somehow all works.

YESH!

You seem to be into similar stuff to me so I will list you some stuff you may like:-

Resident evil Revelations
Really great game, to fully appreciate it you need to know a bit about the Resi universe, like who Chris Redfield and Jill Valentine are. The controls are fantastic even without the cricle pad pro, and the horror is more prevalent than in most of the others (one part where this guy is turning into a monster pleading for an S.O.S actually got me quite good). The story is ok but the boat setting is where the game really shines, the puzzles and monsters all feel very nautical. You will end up very scared at the prospect of venturing down to the lower decks, I wont spoil the reason why though.......
Oh and dont bother with Mercenaries 3D, Revaluations' Raid mode is basically exactly the same thing.

Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time
If like me you missed the original version this game is more than worth your time, I'm sure you have heard why it is worth playing. If you have the original version dont bother though, because the 3Ds version is exactly the same it just looks nicer.

Tales of the abyss
I cant tell you that much as I just started it, but it's very Asian and its very good. If you want a good JRPG this is definitely worth a look.

"New" Super Mario Bros 2
A generic Mario game really old and tired but still good fun.

Solo-Wing

eShop has a crap ton of great games.
If you want some good Puzzlers get the games Pushmo and it's sequel Crashmo.
Crimson Shroud is a great RPG similar to playing dungeons and dragons.
Liberation Maiden is a great arcade like shooter made by Suda 51.
And of course Cave Story and VVVVVV. Really all of those games are fantastic.

If you got Pokemon Black White 2 get Pokemon Dream Radar.

In the retail department I recommend Kingdom Heart Dream Drop Distance, Mario Kart 7, and Thearhythm Final Fantasy. Also Paper Mario Sticker Star is alright too but do not expect it to be the same as previous ones. It is wearing the skin of a Paper Mario game but it is not really one...

Really?! That's also coming out on the 3DS as well!? Oh happy day! I absolutely LOVE Harvest Moon, particularly Rune Factory in general so this is fantastic news. I'll be adding that game to the list of games I'll be getting this year.

Yup, XSeed just confirmed they're doing the localization.
