At first I was really really enjoying skyrim, I've put over 40 hours into this game so far, but the more I played it the more I realized...

This game is worth way more than the $60 I payed for...

I feel as if I cheated someone... like buying a real Rolex for few hundred bucks

...

=(

Yeah, on a $ / enjoyment ratio it's great value.

For me, Oblivion, and Fallout3 were in the same category. (I just couldn't engage with FalloutNewVegas, praps it was too close to F3).

This has some great concepts from Morrowind and Oblivion, combined with new technology to make a bloody brilliant game ... considering games are still pretty much the same price now as years back.

Blimey, I've still got a copy of 'SuperMetroid3' for the Super Nintendo with the same price tag as Skyrim on the box, that games gotta be about 15+ years old by now.

They should have release Skyrim as a "Pay as you want" game. They still would have made a crap ton o money.

And yet, hopefully the employees of Bethesda are overjoyed to hear this. They want you to feel this way, they want you to feel like you are getting a 1000% return on investment. Just enjoy their goodwill, okay?

Wow. Did I just troll in a positive fashion? Sorry about that. I'll be sure to insult you the next time.

I would've paid full price just for Whiterun and the Companions. This game is great. Not without it's faults, but still amazing.

Aye, it definetly one of the few games with an extreme amount of content that really makes it worth the money. Played for 36 hours so far and I still have only been to three holds with tons of quests left in all of them.
Love this game so much, but the framerate issues in the holds are pretty annoying. :<

Really? I'm finding it a bit lacklustre. But then I've only been playing for... hold on while I open Steam...

... huh. 64 hours.

Well. Yeah okay, it's been pretty good value for money I guess!

Don't feel bad.

#1 You are supposed to get more than your moneys worth for a product. That USED to be the American way.

#2 The feeling is probably unusual because most games AREN'T worth the 50-60 dollar price tag. Yet, that's the standard price. People would probably feel like they are getting much more value for a new game, if it didn't come with the standard 50-60 dollar new price tag. I know I do when I buy a game that was great at the time, but bought it much later when it had been marked down to 20 bucks.

I'm starting to think I should look into this "Skyrim" thing... nah, I'll just keep downing energy drinks while playing CoD and calling everyone bro.

Buy a copy for every possible console. Then buy a copy for all your friends and family, and get all the DLC on e very platform. Then go and buy every bit of DLC and expansion for Morrowwind and Oblivion.

I felt the same with Sanctum on Steam. But in that case I spent less than $5 on it. I was quite pleased to buy the DLC when it came out.

Don't feel bad OP, reserve those feelings for games you get on sale. Just because you are having a lot of fun doesn't mean it should have been priced higher. Hell, I reject the $60 price point as it is. Had I bought Skyrim at that price, I wouldn't have felt guilty even if the game gave me a blowjob.

I don't know...

Getting drunk at a decent bar costs 50+ bucks...

Buying dinner for a date at a nice restaurant probably 40+ bucks if you include tip...

A one hour massage is 50 bucks...

Watching a 1 and a half our long 3D movie at theater is 15 bucks...

The value of things is relative... I personally don't enjoy getting drunk... so I find spending 50+ bucks in a bar to be a waste, however there are plenty of people willing to do so.

Same with video games, if you have trouble having fun in games because you require very specific needs in a game to enjoy it... then yes I can see how most games aren't worth 60 bucks.

I'm however pretty flexible, I enjoy all kinds platform, racing, RPG, RTS, FPS, fighting, action, adventure, simulation, etc etc games... so for me most games are worth 60 bucks... unless they are broken, or have a metacritic rating of less than 60... i've been gaming for 15+ years now lol.

Anyways Skyrim is definitely up there out of the hundreds of games I've played... even up there with Independence War 2: Edge of Chaos =D

I know exactly how you feel. There's like 10 games worth of content in there.

Let's put this as a question: how much would someone have to pay you to stop playing Skyrim forever, right now?

If someone offered me 1000 euro I'd honestly have to think about it. That's how you know a game has some good value.

Wow, really?
I mean, REALLY?
Now you even want to shove more money into publishers asses?
This is so; how do I say this and not be insulting... "displaying special needs and an alternative lifestyle" of you. Besides this, I'm just speechless at how much the capital has infested your brain.
