I think a fatal dose of caffein is 5000mg (like 80 cups of coffee). So I don't think anyone has any worries about dying cause of it. I don't think anyone could take in that much fluid unless they took it in some other way or had it stronger or whatever.xmetatr0nx said:I think its the most commonly used mood altering drug out there, although i dont think its dangerous unless someone is smuggling pure caffeine out of a lab to put in their coffee. It does and it doesn't. It all depends on the person really. HellsLuneth described a horrible reaction to Aspartame and a friend of on mine cannot touch diet products or it will send her into a hyper craze apparently, never see it happen myself. I on the other hand have not a single reaction to aspartame. Personally I believe if it only extremely problematic if you are allergic to it, which in the case of my friend is most definitely the case.DVSAurion said:I drink Cola drinks like a couple of times a week and drink coffee once a month. Well, what I've understood most energy drinks contain a lot more caffeine than pepsi. I don't usually touch diet products, because they taste like crap. You can't replace sugar with something else.Bourne said:It does and it doesn't. It all depends on the person really. None of it is addictive in a general sense, since I have gone a full week without touching Pepsi of any kind and had no issues with it.
That site is a huge load of bullshit.Bourne said:Funny someone tossed me this link on the other site. The reason I find it amusing is all these horrid little side-effects caused Aspartame... have never been a bother. It lists severe depression, inability to see properly and all kinds of things, yet here I am being one of the most optimistic people you'll meet and my such good eye sight, my eyes have adjusted to seeing in the dark, albeit mildly. All I have from that list headaches every once in a while, insomnia and... tis about it.

Edit: Oh wait, I do feel restless and sleepy every little while however that is credited more to my only sleeping 2-5 hours a day or not sleeping at all.![]()
Energy drinks barely even work. Stick with coffee.DVSAurion said:I drink Cola drinks like a couple of times a week and drink coffee once a month. Yay I was rightxmetatr0nx said:Well you were spot on; the median lethal dose given orally, is 192 milligrams per kilogram in rats. The lethal dose of caffeine in humans is dependent on weight and individual sensitivity and estimated to be about 150 to 200 milligrams per kilogram of body mass, roughly 80 to 100 cups of coffee for an average adult taken within a limited time frame that is dependent on half-life. Although caffeine in more pure forms such as caffeine pills can be dangerous at much lower doses.InvisibleSeal said:I think a fatal dose of caffein is 5000mg (like 80 cups of coffee). I drink cola way too much, so probably I should worry more about phosphoric acid...
I did once have 6 cups of coffee and i felt like absolute crap the rest of the day.
