I drink Cola drinks like a couple of times a week and drink coffee once a month. I don't drink any energy drinks, because they cost a lot. Never actually tasted one. Heard it addicts you. Damn, not gonna give money to evil organizations.

I think its the most commonly used mood altering drug out there, although i dont think its dangerous unless someone is smuggling pure caffeine out of a lab to put in their coffee. I dont drink that many things with caffeine, aside from the occasional tea or soda.
I think a fatal dose of caffein is 5000mg (like 80 cups of coffee). So I don't think anyone has any worries about dying cause of it. I don't think anyone could take in that much fluid unless they took it in some other way or had it stronger or whatever.

I drink cola way too much, so probably I should worry more about phosphoric acid...

It does and it doesn't. It all depends on the person really. HellsLuneth described a horrible reaction to Aspartame and a friend of on mine cannot touch diet products or it will send her into a hyper craze apparently, never see it happen myself. I on the other hand have not a single reaction to aspartame. Personally I believe if it only extremely problematic if you are allergic to it, which in the case of my friend is most definitely the case.

None of it is addictive in a general sense, since I have gone a full week without touching Pepsi of any kind and had no issues with it.

I once drank 4 pints of Relentless in 2 hours, that felt quite bad, since then I've only drank the occasional can of V, I used to drink energy drinks every day.

Well, what I've understood most energy drinks contain a lot more caffeine than pepsi. I don't usually touch diet products, because they taste like crap. You can't replace sugar with something else.

2-3 cups each day during work. It's disposable plastic cups so they're not particularly large. I drink none during the weekends and never feel any side effects.

Funny someone tossed me this link on the other site. The reason I find it amusing is all these horrid little side-effects caused Aspartame... have never been a bother. It lists severe depression, inability to see properly and all kinds of things, yet here I am being one of the most optimistic people you'll meet and my such good eye sight, my eyes have adjusted to seeing in the dark, albeit mildly. All I have from that list headaches every once in a while, insomnia and... tis about it.

Edit: Oh wait, I do feel restless and sleepy every little while however that is credited more to my only sleeping 2-5 hours a day or not sleeping at all. :p
That site is a huge load of bullshit.

Energy drinks barely even work. Stick with coffee.

I have to consume caffeine because I need to be as alert as possible. I don't need a cow running me over or falling asleep on a tractor going at top speed.

I had to cut down a lot when I found I was getting heart arrhythmia, although they don't seem to be caused by the caffeine after all. At my peak I was drinking maybe 600ml of espresso a day. :D

Between 2-3 cups of coffee, 1-2 energy drinks, and the occasional coke, I consume a fair share, and no not even slightly concerned.

Well you were spot on; the median lethal dose given orally, is 192 milligrams per kilogram in rats. The lethal dose of caffeine in humans is dependent on weight and individual sensitivity and estimated to be about 150 to 200 milligrams per kilogram of body mass, roughly 80 to 100 cups of coffee for an average adult taken within a limited time frame that is dependent on half-life. Although caffeine in more pure forms such as caffeine pills can be dangerous at much lower doses.

I did once have 6 cups of coffee and i felt like absolute crap the rest of the day.

thank you wikipedia [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Caffeine#Caffeine_intoxication]
Yay I was right :D

I didn't know there were "caffein pills" - but maybe those are just for people trying to stay awake. Wikipedia [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Caffeine_pills] says that the caffein pills have between 25 and 200 mg, which sounds a bit bad, considering a person has to dilute them themselves ...

The most I ever had was 3 cups in an hour, and it gave me such a bad headache. Maybe people who have it more often get more tolerant to it up to a point.

Given that you can OD and die on it, yes, it's dangerous. Not as much so as some other drugs, certainly, but dangerous all the same.
