Call Of Duty 7... VIETNAM!?!?!

Eh. I'd rather see a WW1 game than a Vietnam one. Don't get me wrong, Vietnam was a fun war and all, but I'd rather play Conflict: Vietnam because it was the last good Conflict game.

Set the WW1 game in the Southern or Eastern front, with some aerial or tank missions in the Western, and maybe some Hot Sub on Sub Action, and it would be awesome. For some reason, The War to End All Wars gets really under-represented in the media world.

If I'm the die-hard/invincible American soldier there to "jus' point at the ashuns an' shoot!", hmm, maybe if I have nothing better to spend my money on.
However:
If I'm a vengeful Vietcong initiate, planting bombs in Coke cans and sneaking through the bushes at night to raid the American encampments using guerilla warfare to dispatch them and then retreating to my underground tunnel network to plan the next raid.
Hell to the motherfucking yes.

well the sound track would be cool, plus the most modern weapons would be the m16, helicopter support , napalm airstrikes and true jungle guerrilla warfare (traps ,tunnels )

Perhaps the Australian military could finally make an appearance in a war/conflict we were ACTUALLY INVOLVED IN, contrary to current video game suggestion that we don't exist / had no involvement?

I don't know why everyone is hating on Treyarch, I thought world at war was the best strictly 'war' game I've ever played (besides Medal of Honour, of course!) I think treyarch are great, and I reckon 'nam will be a great setting. Looking forward to it half as much as MOH2010, and that's saying something

All i have to say is ABOUT BLOODY TIME..for Vietnam to be represented in a good war based game that is. I'd rather play Medal of Honor.

AT the moment it is being rumored that Call Of Duty 7 will be in Vietnam, or any wars within that time period (60's - 80's).

REMEMBER this is not FACT its rumored because Treyarch (unfortunately) is licensing Music from the Vietnam wars time frame.

If I have to listen to more of that tired, crappy rock music from the 60s and 70s that they always trot out with anything Vietnam-related then that's certainly enough to make me stay right the hell away from this one.

its just a rumor.. And if it is going to be set in vietnam, i think it would be a nice gamiogn experience.. But its just a rumor, they might create one where your under the sea..Wait no, they wont.

Judging from Treyarch's incredibly rascist handling of World at War, a fiver says they will whitewash any US atrocities and accentuate NVA atrocities while portraying the USA as a benevolent, freedom force and North Vietnam as an oppressive, militaristic warlord.

They'd never do it. Nor do I think they should, particularly. There's more than little distinction between that and the airport level in MW2.

Although it would show a darker side to the war. I mean the player wouldn't have to join in the killing if they didn't wish to.

I think that, done well, it could be an effective part of the narrative.

Or it could fail.

Also, I think vietnam would be a good setting for the next CoD. I'm optimistic
