$15 does sound a little excessive ... but then that works out to £9.64

So no doubt we will have to pay £15 which then brings you up to $23.34 ...... Why do game developers charge so much for DLC! I'd understand if it was $15/£15 for a new campaign and a couple of maps, but 5 maps should be an update not an add-on. I know that developers are a business and so looking to get as much money out of one product in a short time, but it just seems excessive, I mean if they release another map pack at £15 then they have almost doubled the profit per game sold.

If an MMO releases one huge "map pack" (which is essentially the equivalent of WoW expansions, LoTRO expansions. e.t.c) they charge little-none for it and constantly update, maintain and patch the game, they keep the content fresh for a whole year-2 years, whiles't these add-ons for $15/£15 give about 4 or 5 more weeks out of a game. Now I know it's a little silly to compare MMOs and FPS' but then theres games like Fable 3 and Mass Effect 2, they both have useless add-ons (cheap or free) and then big add-ons which extend the story and give you unique rewards (a little bit more than cheap). Whiles't with CoD all we seem to get is map pack after map pack for a lot more than they should be worth

Not buying a map-pack ever. This shit should be free.
itll be free once we have to pay monthly for cods online multiplayer. :) so how about we all deal with the price. the new maps sound cool. its only three bucks a map.
Don't you have to pay for Xbox Live Gold Membership?
its gunna be on top of that, everyone is complaining about the prices of the map packs and how the games arent updated often enough, so there going to start having a monthly fee, so that the game can be constantly updated(similar to tf2(pc), except not free cuz activision is moneyhungry)

and i play ps3. i hate my xbox. but i do do playstation plus so i pay anyway.although, i am somewhat dissapointed that your assuming im playing it on xbox.

That strikes me as saying we should all stop complaining about how the console developers are screwing us because if we don't submit they might screw us harder. That just seems sad in a COPS kind of way. I would say we should take a stance and we should band together to change the industry and all that stuff from watching 80s sports movies but it doesnt make a dfference. Oh, and sorry for lumping you in the Xbox, its just that for the most part a lot of games and CoD in particular tend to assign themselves to the rules of Xbox concerning DLC and Map packs and the such and then just do whatever is equivalent to the other platforms. There may not be a mandated price for DLC on PS3, but its much easier to just charge whatever they charge on the xbox for everyone.

Or you can, y'know, buy a PC. Personally, I wouldn't complain at all if this map pack gets pirated to hell and back. Once again, if Arcen Games can release loadsa content FOR FREE, Activision sure as heck can. (And Valve, obviously. Although they seem to be a bit too invested in selling HATS recently for my tastes.)

Uhm I don't see why a map pack needs to be 15$ if I'm honest as far as I'm aware with MS point currency value isn't that more expensive than both Red Dead Redemption undead nightmare and Mass Effects Lair of the Shadow broker both of which weren't just a few extra maps but were actual new levels and add ons to the game story itself.

So to me thats really getting to greedy of Activision but they will keep at it as long as people keep buying them and people will buy the maps in their hundreds so there isn't much we can do to change their pricing scheme.

Believe me, I do most of my gaming on a PC, but my brother is determined to buy every major xbox release this year so buying BLOPS for PC wouldn't work because A. I don't want to waste 60 bucks just so I can play an inferior version and B. I don't want to give Treyarch 60 bucks for a recycled barely balanced MW2.
Its not really that greed motivates this, I'm pretty sure that offering more incentive to buy the game after release is much more lucrative rather than selling shitty DLC. I'm just not sure Activision sees how well this works, it just feels more like stupidity than greed.

Fuck, that means 1500 MP for a Map Pack?

I'm only buying it for Zombies, seems like a great rip-off for 3 maps I won't use.

And for 15 bucks I can buy the new expansion for Bad Company 2 that has like 8 maps, new weapons, new vehicles, and new voice overs.

Obvious choice is obvious.

Oh, awesome, so now on PC we would have to wait a month and pay for it? I could understand the whole waiting a month thing with World at War since we got them for free, but that is just a rip off. Well, glad I decided to wait on buying this until I knew how much they would try to screw us over for with map packs, and glad I'm not buying it.
Wait so they expect us to pay $15 for a shitty two maps.......HAhahaahahahahahaha

AHHHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH-No.

I barely buy anything online anyway, and $15....I might aswell ask a friend to make me a map pack on the Black ops mod tools...OH WAIT!
I'd take the $15 and go spend it on indie games. RUSH is only a puzzle game, but they update that with new puzzles weekly, for free. And then there is also Killing Floor with multiple free weapon/map updates, and one even with a new enemy.

I'm pretty sure it'll be 10 Euros.

WoW expansions are what, 30 bucks? They buy you "access" to the game. WTF?!?! I not only have to pay 30 bucks for the game, I need to pay another fifteen per month to play it? No, thanks.

Then again, I'm not buying these map packs for any price greater than free. I doubt many people will on the PC, and if they don't we have a server browser :D

Well, one upside to this: people can't say that Infinity Ward is full of greedy bastards that charge $15 USD for a map pack. Treyarch is now charging the same.
