You know what?
NO
No no no NO!

No game has ever copied an existing game.
They have developed from each other!

So, by your logic, every game ever is a clone of Pong!
Does that sound reasonable to you?!

DOES IT?!

GOD!
Yes quite reasonable infact. Doesn't mean they are bad though.

You know there was blood splatter before MW2, right?
Yeah, AND there was extra health perks in BF:2...

Also, hes talking about "Modern Warfare" Games like Infinity Ward are doing something totally new.

May I just mention Battlefield 2? And about 500 other games?

If you consider no health bar to be copying CoD, then CoD copied the sims, which copied space invaders, which copied pong...

You do know what clones mean right?

I have two arms, am I a "clone" of the guy down the street?

Here's a quick reference guide:

Clone: Dante's Inferno gameplay cloned God of War

Not Clone: The games you just mentioned

I say we bring back the term "Doom clone". :D
Na, Doom was a Wolfenstein clone.
I think Doom Clone stuck better just because it was easier to say.
It was a joke, He thinks that a current generation game is original enough to be coppied so I also assumed that this was his opinion.
Oh, I understand that. I was playing along.

Besides, Compuserve. COMPUSERVE. The original Playstation Home.

Well, for starters the No health abr thing is not a COD invention as far as i know. Many games have this.

Second, the multiplayer perks are awesome. it's like BF series unlocks and prolly a lot of otehr stuff in other games as well, which allow costumization to how your character/class works, integrating RPG elements like that is what makes me like MW2.

Also read moviebobs lates text about how people have become whiny bitches who'll call everything cliché. While he talks about movies its the same for games, everyone seems to have something up their ass, whenever they think they're smart, cause they noticed that some elements are seen in different games.

Lately, it just seems like everyone has decided to do away with the things that made their online FPS franchises unique in order to copy Call of Duty. For example:

Halo: Reach will add multiplayer perks
Battlefield: Bad Company 2 is replacing its health bar with on-screen blood spatter and regenerating health
And just look at the newest Medal of Honor game: http://www.medalofhonor.com/

To be fair, I have to admit that I hate CoD (mostly for its multiplayer), but do any CoD fans see this as a good thing? What are all of your opinions on this recent phenomenon?

EDIT: About the blood spatter in BF:BC2, it comes in addition to regenerating health. The health bar was one of the things that made the entire Support class important.
On a funny side note. IW/activ literary STOLE some maps/perks/kill-streak stuff from moders (A10 and the nuke being the most noted because the modder making them actually got IWs trailer showing them pulled down from youtube for a while XD). Oh and we all know IW killed their modding community, adding even more fun to this.

EDIT Oh and IW stole the unlock-thingy from BF2. Well if you want to act like that.

I believe that regenerating health was first made mainstream by Halo CE wasn't it?

Problem: Modern Warfare did not invent, or popularize, any of those things. The "perks" in Reach are reusable equipment. They function exactly like equipment did in Halo 3, except that they recharge instead of being one-use items.

Meanwhile, shooters with health bars were getting rare before Modern Warfare was even released. Halo:CE started that trend.
