Literaly everything that any CoD game did was done before by another game. So... what's the point here?

NO
No no no NO!

No game has ever copied an existing game.
They have developed from each other!

So, by your logic, every game ever is a clone of Pong!
Does that sound reasonable to you?!

DOES IT?!

GOD!
Also by that logic (Im agreeing with you before anyone jumps to conclusions) Call of Duty doesnt even deserve to be called a game, ITS A DOOM RIPOFF! You got blood splatter on the screen when you get hurt, your running through corridors and town areas savagely murdering things because they look different to your guy, progressing through levels, having multiplayer (Also, all multiplayer is an Empire ripoff, and it was made in the 70's.)
I could talk about this all day, but in short, calling things copies or ripoffs defies logic in many ways if examined for a moment.

Health regenerates so slowly in BC2 that it makes medics necessary. In fact, the support class is even more important now that you can't see your own health bar, but others can.

Battlefield 2 came out before Modern Warfare. It had modern combat and unlockable guns. Battlefield 2142 came out a year before Modern Warfare and had unlockable perks. Stop trying to say games are copying CoD when CoD is the one "copying". Although borrowing ideas/improvements would be a better way of saying it. How do you think progress is made in this industry? One person improves something, others add it to their games, someone else improves something else to make their game unique, etc.

The sole reason that I would ever say anything along the lines of "This game reminds me of (insert name of another game here)" is because it's a lot faster than describing each game aspect and how it works.

Would I say that Blur is what would happen if Need for Speed: Carbon (racing game), Wipeout (the weapons system) and Call of Duty 4 (the mods system) were mixed together? Yes.

EDIT: Okay, so it seems Battlefield 2 did the perks system first, but the only BF game I've played is a small bit of BF2142's multiplayer, so please excuse me for my lack of knowledge on that subject.

Would I say that Blur in any way, rips off, clones, copies or whatever's any of those game's aspects? No.

I've noticed that the only time the word "rip-off" is used is when one game does one thing first, then another game does it later and gets very negative critical reception and the only time the word "clone" is used is when one game does one thing first, then another game does it later and gets average/above average critical reception.

Yet, none of those words are ever seen or heard when someone compares two games that have been well-received. Hmm, I wonder how that works.

Also, I've been playing far too much of the Blur beta demo lately since the netcode was fixed and it stopped resetting my rank after two games, so it's the first game that came to mind as an example, okay?

Lately, it just seems like everyone has decided to do away with the things that made their online FPS franchises unique in order to copy Call of Duty. For example:

Halo: Reach will add multiplayer perks
Battlefield: Bad Company 2 is replacing its health bar with on-screen blood spatter and regenerating health
And just look at the newest Medal of Honor game: http://www.medalofhonor.com/

To be fair, I have to admit that I hate CoD (mostly for its multiplayer), but do any CoD fans see this as a good thing? What are all of your opinions on this recent phenomenon?

EDIT: About the blood spatter in BF:BC2, it comes in addition to regenerating health. The health bar was one of the things that made the entire Support class important.
Well you know what?

Gears of War had regenerating health bars and blood spatter, and it came out before either call of duty MW2 and battlefeild bad company 2.

By your logic both games must have copied gears of war

It SUCKS! I love CoD, but I love progression in games alot better. When one idea is copied, we all go nowhere. It's time this stupid CoD copying stopped. Sure it was good for that game, but I would like to see something new. Like a more body-sensitive shooter game, like if you blow out someones kneecap, then they can no longer walk. Or headshots are instant kills.

BC2 is not like MW2. In single play your HP will regenerate, but in muliplay it only regenerates at 1/hp per second after you're out of combat for 6 seconds and a player has 100HP so basically, you need a medic.

Also, combat is completely different. MW2 is more static arena-like deathmatchy while BC2 tends to be large sprawling battles and quite dynamic. It's not just the vehicles and destructibility but also far less arcady perks and no killstreaks plus far less customizing of classes makes it a lot more even. BC2 is epic warfare, MW2 is small scale frag fests.
