So, with the news that's on right now, and all the talk about black ops it got me thinking about Call of Duty. Now that Osama's finally dead, and it's a huge deal for us with books and movies no doubt soon to follow, what do you think are the odds of a game featuring the "Kill Bin-Laden" mission? Would it be tasteful homage to the men who did the deed? Or would you think it was just shameless capitalizing on a media frenzy?

9/11 didn't stop them. We will certainly see media released about this event.

However, like with 9/11, some pretty amazing pieces of art will be released about it. Among all the cash-ins.

Fox news would jump on it more than Six Days in Fallujiah, so it would lose the publisher and...yeah game over.

Since when did activision give a fuck?
I do honestly hope this would happen. Fox news kills CoD.

I'm not saying it should happen, just that it will. Honestly I think we should wait for CoD 2013 before Activision considers it...and yes it will be called CoD2013....because anything else would just be false advertising.

When we get a flight simulator that has a JFK Jr. mode, then something like Call of Duty: Osama will be a "tasteful homage".

As soon as I heard he was killed in a ground assault I had the exact same thought as the OP.

I'd love that. Maybe add in an "Extremist Muslim Zombies" mode where he shows up as a boss. :D
If this happened, it would be the first CoD game I purchase.

I think even for Activision that might be a little too soon.

Edit: Mind you, Fidel Castro's still alive and that didn't stop them from ripping on him in BO.

I think this is one of those "Too soon" cases, hell call of duty just made one about vietnam and it is considered to be a contravesal subject. They would destroied by almost everyone if they did such a thing.

This idea is a shameless cash grab of a real death. It will surely incite controversy.

However unlike Six Days in Fallujah, there are some things which will make it more palatable to the audience and concerned mothers.

In this mission, no Americans were killed or injured. And the only reported non-combatant death was a woman that an Al-Qaeda operative used as a human shield.

The Battle of Fallujah on the other hand was the bloodiest battle of the Iraq War for both Americans and civilians.

Our reasons for going into Iraq is morally questionable and the results even worse. The opposition was not too hated. Bin Laden on the other hand is a figure who has caused death and pain throughout the world and is condemned and hated across the globe. Our reasons for attacking Bin Laden is justified.

They could do it for MewThree, but they'd have to skirt cautiously round the names as such, but even then, it might be a tad too soon.

There have been TONNES of vietnam games.
OT: On a scale of one to ten, one being below tasteless and ten being highly tasteful, i give this idea a -1.
