My hand tends to disobey what my brain is saying. I can't even draw a straight line without a ruler, and even then it ends up crooked. I just can't keep my hand calm.

I can't draw, but I can paint. It's odd. I've actually had two paintings go to a "Spotlight on Youth" showing, and one of those went to a museum for a a few weeks. It was pretty cool.
Wow. I can draw but I could never paint. xD

I can draw technically with a large degree of precision, but artistically? No way.

Hmm,.. I guess the problem is the fact that other than the casual namewriting in first grade i've always written on a computer? Causes handwriting to be back at STARTING stage even when you get older. Havent bothered to train it because, HAI Technology.

I can't draw. It's like Quadratic equations for me. I know how to do it, I've read heaps of books and tutorials (For both drawing and QE), I understand how to do it, I've seen other people do it, I can see what I want it to look like in my mind but my hands just won't do what my mind tells them too. It just doesn't work. I simply can't draw.

The only thing on my DeviantArt actually drawn by me (IE; not a trace) is this:

To all those who can?t draw. Don?t worry about it, the wonderful image you have of it in your head isn?t even true. There?s a horrible gritty reality to wade through before you can even dream of the point here you can draw the images in your head as you want them to be. It?s filled with a lot of frustration, hard work and some hits to the ego that can be quite awful for some people. It also takes more time than you probably image, an awful long time. I?m talking a good portion of your life here; maybe a bit less if you use the time as effectively as you can. That?s only if you draw the line somewhere, you can spend a lifetime and still be improving in some way.

I can't draw because I cannot get my hands to move in the way I want them to, and need them to.

Which is really annoying as I get the most awesome images in my head that I'd love to share but cannot do anything about it...

It takes practice, just following a guide isn't going to get you results instantly. Drawing isn't assembling a desk there's more to it. Keep playing with it, keep a loose grip on your pencil and just make lighter looser shapes and then detail it up and eventually something will come out of it.
It should be like assembling a desk.
But then everyone's drawings would look the same...don't follow step-by-step guides; don't trace; just really try and focus on what you want it to look like and don't be afraid to draw the same thing a few dozen times.
Thats how I assemble a desk!

I can't draw, no matter how hard I try. Copying something, it comes out all out of proportion. Sometimes while doodling I draw a pretty good portrait or caricature but I can never replicate it... I just get lucky once in awhile. Sometimes I draw an ok body/pose and can't get the head right, or I draw an ok face and can't fill out the rest of the person.

Objects beyond basic 2D shapes look like a child's drawing. My skills have for the most part not developed beyond 2nd grade level. I don't know why because I've really tried at it from time to time.

iam pretty lousy at drawing even tho ive been doodling for years all my note books are full of drawings and some actually look good but i always had a thing were if a draw a full body drawing the head and feet will either be too big ,too short , too long or over sized ....
and the other thing i got is that i cant draw faces worth shit... human faces that is... evil monsters i got covered.

Like a lot of other folks here apparently I can see the designs but I can't translate them, similar to how I can think up songs or melodies that sound great in my head but I couldn't put them to a staff and key it to the individual insturments if you put a gun to my head

I can't draw, or play instruments. I guess I was just cursed with these hands.

I can draw a little, but the moment a third dimension gets tossed in there the whole thing changes from a Dog to a Drooling Noodle-Monkey Washcloth.

I cannot draw. At all. Whatsoever. The worst thing about it is that I have all these grand ideas in my head for comics, cartoons, the like, and I am too young to hire an artist.

I could not draw anything decent to save my life.
But I have been told it is a matter of practice first, talent second.
So if you really want to learn, you can learn.
I just never had the patience.
You have taken the words right out of my mouth. I just dont have the time and i didnt really care for it either and i can only draw stick figures now...
