Personally, I think this idea is absolute garbage.
The metal that you (as to say, the OP) listen to is a genre that is absurdly repetitive, and the lyrics are boring as hell. Chords are always the same throughout the entire song, and let's face it, I still don't get why people choose to scream like they've got a leech hanging off their throat instead of singing like a normal person (for this reason, despite the fact I don't like them that much, Linkin Park is better band). Even then, I don't get why people choose to listen to them in the first place, IMO.

But the upside to the bands i listed is that people will get to know some underground bands.
There's a reason why they're underground - music-wise, they're not very good! If you've heard them once, you've heard them all - it all sounds the same, which is why they aren't very popular compared to other genres. Which leads to this: if they make a GH Metal, it wouldn't sell that much.
The only ones I'd pretty much agree with is Metallica (yes Metallica), Iron Maiden, Motorhead and Ozzy Osbourne.
Translation: "I don't share the OP's taste in music". Really, people? Must we flame someone's selection of music? If you don't like it, stay out or make a suggestion of your own instead of just saying, "That's a crappy idea".
Aside from the fact that yes, I don't like his taste in music, I am also trying to point out that it certainly would not sell very much, hence, 'a crappy idea'. Aiming at a minority of the people who buy music/music games would never be a good idea. Now you want me to make a suggestion of my own? How about: I would leave Guitar Hero to keep at what they are doing, great rock music from all generations. In fact, someone said something about a genre-branching career mode - I'd definitely like to see that happen. There would be untold amounts of replay value in something like that.
