Not really, they can be good friend as long as they are unattractive, but guys/girls have different preferences in topics so it can't be the same "bro" like connection, it's also alot easier to relate when you are of the same species.

I imagine that it is illegal for a girl to be a brah. Kind of defeats the whole purpose of the hilariously mispronounced word in the first place. But I do admit that there is something funny about the thought of a male calling a girl "brah." Maybe if she's a pre-op transexual, or just a gritty post-op.
Bro Code Article 22: There is no law prohibiting a woman from being a bro. Women make great bros. Why? Because they can translate and navigate the confusing and contradictory whims that comprise the Chick Code.

I own an official copy of The Bro Code by Barney Stinson. This makes me awesome

OT: Yes. My friend Becky is my bro. She always stands by me when I need her and for whatever I need her
1.
Bro Code Article 4: A bro never divulges the existence of the Bro Code to a woman. It is a sacred document not to be shared with chicks for any reason...not even that reason.
2. I think we have the same book.

I would be weird to call a girl "Broski" but whatever
Brosephine, Angelina Brolie, Amy Broehler, or Evelyn Brah are all acceptable replacements.

In the literal sense, obviously not. In the common modern usage it could be done but it would only be a result of a lack of an equivalent word for a female.

ITT: nerds and girls rage against what they perceive "bro" culture to be like.

Different social group, different perspectives on life. Deal with it.

This is true.

/Thread.

Speaking from experience, it is very true.

My fiancee is pretty much this. Sure there's the relationship thing, but aside from that we're best friends as if we were related, and she is tomboy enough that "bro" can apply in a way. Once you ignore the breasts. Maybe it helps that we've known each other since we were kids.
But yeah, other than intimacy, we're more like brother and sister than what I see in most relationships as "we're sort of friends but we wouldn't see each other if it wasn't for the sex." Sorry if I sound way too jaded, but I'm trying real hard to see more in other couples than this.

Can they fit the concept? Sure.

Would I go around calling a girl my "bro?" Definitely not. That's like calling Leonardo DiCaprio an actress.

That depends. Can a guy be your girl? (The answer is yes, sadly. A co-worker occasionally refers to me as such with absolutely no malice.)

However, "Yeah brah, girls can be bro's. As long as they're Bi."
I would agree that the ability to check out women is a prerequisite for a 'bro' so being bi or gay is a given.
A girl doesn't have to be gay or bi to be able to tell when another girl is hot. Surely you guys can tell the difference between an ugly guy and attractive guy even if you don't admit it :p

Not really. They don't really meet the requirements for brodom.

Maybe a guy that went under the knife and swapped gender could, but a born female really can't have the proper mindset for brodom, it would be like asking your dog to wash the dishes.

It's not that it wouldn't do it, or that it didn't hear you properly, or even that it doesn't know what washing the dishes is. It is because it doesn't even understand the words that you said.

One girl I know is essentially a bro. She's engaged to someone in my circle of friends, though, and has a tendency to show off her heritage (southern grown and very proud of her Apache blood)

A "bro" is actually a homosexual term in modern day America used to refer to a male friend who will happily suck your wang. So yea, i suppose a girl can be a "bro", though they have their own name: "hoe", hence the term "bros before hoes".
Hmmmm...wierd. In Australia and New Zealand, Bro is short for Brother. Then again we also say mate all the time and Americans think we wanna have sex with them or something.

Seriously these culturals discrepancies can be a right pain.
He is full of 'it. Bro means the same thing in America as it does in Australia and New Zealand.
Well there you go. Thanks for clarifying.

Not talking about a literal brother here, because obviously they can't. But, in the realms of 'brodom,' a bro is one of those guys who'll do anything for you from being your wingman to helping bury a body. Now, everyone knows that a girl could do those things, but does that actually make them your bro? Or do you think that is illegal according to the bro code?
The "bro code" is a bunch of sexist hypocritical nonsense so naturally girls are excluded by default.

However if what you're asking is if a girl can be your best friend, then the answer is definitely.
Did you not read all the posts mentioning Rule 22. A chick can be a bro, and that is according to the website, and Barney Stinson's "The Bro Code."

And there is nothing sexist about the bro code, unless sexists use it that way.
