Also can anyone tell me if there is any way to get Direct X OTHER than off the Microsoft website, because every time I try to download it, it won't access the Microsoft download website![]()
Not true. Most games don't require DirectX10, but they do have functionality for it. I can't even think of a single game requiring it, especially not with the announcement of this DirectX11 stuff. Wait until Vista stops sucking. They'll eventually fix it like they did XP.Spartan Bannana said:You would probably want DirectX10 for a gaming PC, problem is, it only comes with Vista, so what OS are you running?
You probably won't need these for a few months, or until you join a guild or clan of some sort.curlycrouton said:

There are a lot of compatibility issues with video games and programs, least of which of importance being something like Hamachi. It's not exactly the horrible mess made out to be, no, but there's not a huge incentive to get it and an incentive to stick with XP until they either sort out the compatibility issues or make it required to have DirectX10 and DirectX10 hardware.Spartan Bannana said:Did I say NEED? Also, Vista apparently doesn't suck that much, asked Eggo about it, he said he was happy with it, and he's pretty much the foremost authority on that kinda stuff around here
Painkiller ftw.RAWKSTAR said:Hit the nail on the head there!Eternal_Rapture said:Fallout 3 of coarse.Auro70392 said:Thx.RAWKSTAR said:With the DirectX you could try getting it from www.majorgeeks.com I got mine from there.
As for games it would depend what your into... personally one of my faverate PC games (old as it is) Dungeon Keeper 2.
Well as for what I am into I am a fan of FPS and RPGs
Also if your into more mindless FPS I'll suggest Painkiller to you, some great laughs to be had with that!
Actually, I wouldn't do the GPU update untill, and only untill you have rolledback you current driver to the original release. Then update to the latest, just incase the update means you can't play an older game. This happened to me once when I updated my driver to play a newer game and by doing so made NWN stop working.curlycrouton said:Auro70392 said:Ok now I would like to ask if there were any games you would recommend for a newbie PC gamer that you would like to suggest.

1. Download Steam
2. Download Xfire
3. Download Ventrilo
4. Download Skype
5. Download all your latest GPU drivers, motherboard drivers, etc.
6. Purchase some games off Steam.
7. You're ready to go.
