Can anyone tell me what anime this is from?

i have this picture randomly on my computer as a background, and it looks fairly awesome.
problem is i don't know what it is? i would be interested to know, and this is really the only way i could think of finding out where its is from....
im hoping its an anime series, because lets face it, what is cooler than anime girls fighting with over sized swords?

The one on the right looks like Saber from Fate/Zero and most likely is, the other one I'm not sure, but if I had to guess, I'd say maybe Yomi from Ga-Rei: Zero. Same kind of sword, same black hair, same purple-ish eyes, but slightly different clothing, so maybe not. Or maybe it's Mio from K-ON! with a sword.

I just started watching Fate/Zero (loving it, btw) and i think that's what got me interested. have you seen Fate Stay Night? because /Zero is awesome, and apparently its a prequel? just wondering if its worth picking up

Most anime outside of hentai and ecchi (and are actually worth watching) have reasonably proportioned characters. Of course this being a drawn medium there's artistic liberties, but those have been mostly going towards moe than anything.

Yeah, I've seen Fate/ Stay Night. It's not very good, at least in my opinion. I'm sure it has it's fans, but it's certainly nowhere near as good as Fate/Zero. But if you want to get more into the series, I guess you can check it out. Or you can just play the visual novel, which this series is based on. Haven't played it, personally, but I've heard good things about it.

OP: Five to One it is just an original drawing by some radom artist. There are many awesome pictures that sadly lack any continuity or even owner in the magnificient quagmire which is the net. I suggest Original fiction created by yourself, inspired by the image, if you desire more.

They're from separate series, though the one on the left does still have that sort of action.

Left: Mio from K-On! with a Sword. She doesn't actually wield a sword in K-On nor does K-On involve anything actiony or epic. It's a slice of life show about cute girls in a cute band doing cute things with little to no conflict, so I'm going to assume since you're interested in swords, that isn't the show for you.

Right: Saber from the Fate Series, specifically in this case from Fate/zero. It's a very action based series (especially Fate/zero) so I'm going to guess it's within your tastes, although the fantasy components may seem convoluted, especially how they do an info dump of most of it in the first episode. Fate/zero is a prequel to Fate/stay night, which is more romantic than Fate/zero and overall has less of teh awesomesauce action desu, but grounds you into the universe better, so I suppose you could watch Fate/stay night if you want to have a better understanding of Fate/zero (though even then, you will have a few surprises in Fate/zero that were never touched on in the Fate/stay night anime). Fate/zero is a two season series that only finished up its first season a few weeks ago so you can go ahead and watch the whole season and then cry about the cliffhanger like the rest of us. Second season comes back in April.

To take a tangent from the OP, I'm a little annoyed by how non-anime watchers aren't really contributing to the topic as much as bashing on it. This is the Escapist, not /b/, wise-up.

I think it's more of an issue of how you'd fight holding it like that rather than just being left handed. It's like that time Erza in Fairy Tail was fighting with her swords by holding them with her toes.
