I had fun with brawl, no doubt there, and me and my friends play it from time to time over the years, but the gameplay mechanics of it were rubbish compared to melee, talk to anyone who has played them both more than your average casual person and they'd probably tell you the same thing. hell check out the mods for the damn game, in one way or another they try to mimic it back to melee.
