I'm not the best at moral conundrums....but if say you know who a serial killer or similar criminal is,is it wrong to bring him to the justice he deserves? Can you justify it?If not what makes it wrong? Is it right to let muderers live while their victims die?Like I said I'm morally grey,What do you all believe?

I believe that no one deserves death. The good deserve to prosper, and the evil deserve to suffer, big time.

Well, first of all...

Now. On to the issue at hand. Actions of a SERIAL murderer can not be justified unless all of his victims attacked and tried to kill him.[/quote]

Well I was only off by one letter which I promptly fixed and it didn't quite spell cereal either,

But would killing the unjust serial killer be just?

If it's un-intentional then I think it can be justified.

If it's with intent then I don't think it's justified, I mean sure there's the old "If you had a chance to kill Hitler" argument but why couldn't you just have him locked up for life or explain to him that his master plan will tank and have him known as the most evil man in existence?

Absolutely. In some cases, people deserve to suffer rather than to die, but in many cases, like that of a serial killer, the world is simply better off without someone. Killing is justified in self-defense and sometimes as capital punishment.

No, there is no justification for killing if the person is not an immediate threat to you. For example, if said person is in custody, killing them for any reason is wrong and should never be accepted. Killing someone for revenge or some sick sense of justice is no better than being a murderer.

The only time killing can be justified is in self-defense, at all other time there are not a single reason that makes it justifiable to kill a human.

This makes me think of the show Dexter. It's about a serial killer who's thing is to kill other serial killers. So if you go with the "would you let hitler live" argument, Dexter is doing the right thing, or even has to do it, even though he himself is a serial killer. So then would someone else be "in the right" to kill Dexter, because after all, he does kill a lot of people? It's a pretty complex grey area.
Or the same could be said about Death Note, if you are familiar with that. Is Kira righteous?

It's hard to say for sure what is right. But I kind of lean towards (at least on good days of hope toward humanity) Vash's style of thought, that all life is valuable. Even the "bad people" have good in them, and they are still at the core, people. People can change and be healed of the pain that leads them do bad things. Everyone has flaws and everyone has the potential to overcome their mistakes.

No human should have the right to take another's life. If someone does, however, I'd say he have forfeited his own.
