That girl needs to go to jail for lying to the Police, jeopardizing his education, being a *****(If that were against the law i would be a happy man) and defamation of character(how the hell is he going to get a job if everyone thinks he went on a shooting spree)
IT JUST AIN'T RIGHT!
Imagine how hard it'd be to find girls.
Right, locked up every woman that was a ***** 99.9% of them would be in jail the day after the law passed, and the other 0.1% would go when that part of the month came along.

Seriously, this is one of the most convulted stories I've ever read.

Granted, if what "Tom" says is true, they can't stop him from graduating, but what do I know. I'm just a nameless person on the internet.
I think you meant 'convoluted' there

Ok I'm done :)

I think he just needs to make a phone call and have it straightened out with the right people, if he talks to them adult to adult then he'll get it sorted. They can't stop you graduating without kicking you out of school, surely?

I can't believe things like this actually happen. It just seems so incredibly unbelievable they they happen. If there is no proof, however, shouldn't she be charged for slander and false arrest or something like that?

That is ridiculous. I would vouch for 'Tom' and give 'Ashley' a severe beating. They can't stop him graduating, as paintball is hardly illegal - you can buy live firearms for Christ's sake. What the Police and the school are saying holds no ground, so he should be cleared straight away. If it's for any longer, fuck it, sue them for all they have.

I stopped believing this once I read far enough to discover that it's a "friend of a friend" story.

But humoring the idea that this is REALLY how it went down: despite the fact that it was a paintball gun, in the days of post-Columbine, you are a complete and utter MORON for bringing a GUN to SCHOOL.
Regardless of type, regardless of intention.

He is an idiot.

Thing is if that was put into the system it will never be gone, with the internet and the data travel we have it will exist forever, future employers will look at that think hes a nut and turn him down

So "Tom" is pretty much screwed.
For life.

Sucks, don't it?
It's not for sure.
I'd tell Tom to get a lawyer. If is a legal issue, and he needs representation.
Also, goto the school board for an appeal. They might stop him from graduating as long as the charges are pending. But if he finishes classes, and the charges are dropped, then they can award him his diploma. He might not have a big ceremony, but at that point I'd think he'll just be happy to get it at all.

He can fight this for sure, so he's not screwed in the long run yet.
Is it a stupid situation? Absolutely.
But if he's really telling the truth, then the guy has got to fight for it.

So let me get this straight. If someone were to just randomly tell a teacher that I said I wanted to shoot them . . . then they could stop me from graduating? That's fucking retarded. The ***** has no proof and no credibility! And lets not even add the fact that he was saying it with a paintball gun held in his hand. This entire story is preposterous and it shows just how moronic people can be. Hell, even if he said he wanted to shoot her without a paintball he still shouldn't get in trouble simply because she has no proof. He should just tell the school that the girl is a spiteful ***** who's mad at him because he turned her down.

I was once pretty much raped by a woman at a party.

we were both VERY VERY drunk and were sharing a room. I go up to go to sleep and about 20 minutes later I come out of a daze and realise she's giving me a blowjob...

Crazy women do crazy things.

That's not true.
If the charges are dropped, or he's aquitted, then anyone who doesn't hire him because of that he can sue the pants off of. It's illegal. My Dad worked in social services, and if the guy has an education, no convictions, and the desire to get work, then he can find work. Heck, my Dad found work for people with convictions.

Geez, everyone is so fatalistic.

But still going to follow him, and you can't ever remove every trace of that.
A conviction, yes, but just being brought in for questioning won't show up or put him in the system.
