Unlucky, I'd say. I've been kicked from servers for my "British" accent (Australian, actually, but you get a star for effort!), for disagreeing with an older player's tactics (Ok, guys- everyone snipe those guys) and once, absurdly, for being the only member of the team who wasn't bilingual.

actually I played over 100 matches (possibly more I don't know) on 3 and people there weren't that bad out of all of them I've only experienced 1 or 2 team killers don't know about reach haven't played it online yet

Okay so I'm playing L4D2 on the box tonight. I play a few rounds of versus without the headset cause my little cousin wanted to borrow it for Halo: Reach in the next room.I'm having a pretty good night; a few long Jockey rides, some really good booms, and a Tank car throw that had me laughing like a mad scientist. The Cuz gets done an returns the headset. I pop it on as a new round starts and say say a quick "Hey guys it's (insert tag here) I'm on Headset now."

That's not to say PS3 doesn't have it's share of douchenozzles, but in xbox live they breed at an alarming rate. That's the good thing about gaming on PC, most of the bitching and trolling is done in text, so you can easily ignore it.

And that's why I pretty much only play multiplayer games with either my clan or on a few select servers from which I know are respectful to everyone.

And that's on the PC. On the 360 it's even worse thanks to the abundance of mics, as you usually get them with the console, and that pretty much all games have random matchmaking.

I wouldn't be surprised if the PS3 has more online douches, thanks to online being free so many people go on it every now and then. Thing is, you don't get a mic with the console and they're a lot more expensive to boot. So while they're there, you just don't hear them.

Halo 3 had the WORST online community in terms of respect, more racism, disrespectful rudeness than MW1 & 2 combined. I guess it's just your point of view. I would assume that FPS's would be more prone to this behavior than other genres.

-sidenote: I still stand by what I say that Halo's community was the worst, but yet and still I have met a lot of cool people in there as well. I don't mean to alienate the entire online FPS community.
