I really wish people would research this before asking, the PS3 is selling strong, even outselling the others sometimes, it starts slow and now its... dying?

Sony did pretty much everything wrong this time, but they can limp through this generation, much like nintendo did w/ the gamecube. If they fuck up again, though, they're toast a la Sega.

Right now according to IGN it's listed as PS3 only. Though you probably are better off getting it for the PS3 even if it does end up on the 360 just because the 360 DPad is so terrible for fighting games.

I'm not sure if this is exactly true (hell, if it's true at all) but my friend said that many developers stated that if Sony wasn't in the console wars then the console wars wouldn't progress technologically, and therefore wouldn't get better consoles

I don't know where he heard it from but that's what he said, and it does makes some sense when you think about it.

Sony did pretty much everything wrong this time, but they can limp through this generation, much like nintendo did w/ the gamecube. If they fuck up again, though, they're toast a la Sega.

I find that funny how some of us already said that the PS3 outsells the Xbox360 almost everywhere else and even the Wii every now and again. Of course, it depends on how you look at it.

in general, if there was no sony there would be no advancement. Hell, sony made the discs to store more memory, i think the blu-ray and a whole bunch of other stuff that advanced the console wars.

Actually, Nintendo did alright with the Gamecube. In the last console war Sony opted to take a loss on every PS2 sold to cut prices and get a wide share of the market. Nintendo, because it went budget and avoided DVD licensing fees with those tiny discs, made cash on every Gamecube sold.

Not saying they won by any means, they came in third place in terms of market share (127 million PS2 sold v. 22 million GC). But financially they did alright. Plus, y'know, Gameboy and all that.

nothing will die as long as the console makes a profit, and it will.It has to many supporters. People forget, even with crappy game releases game designers can still make a living. Just because your not number one doesn't mean you die. As long as there is profit too be made, and kids have holes in there wallets the console will survive.

I highly doubt the PS3 will die, well atleast not with as much frequency as a 360 har har har.

Seriously though, the consoles will do relatively well. The only one likely having true exclusives anyway is the PS3. Many xbox games either get ported cross console or to PC in a year of initial release. It's how Microsoft wrings as much milk from its gaming teats as it can.

Most of the third party games will eventually be on PS3 too. They are listed as Xbox360 only at the moment because Microsoft pays companies for timed releases. And, not telling people that the games are also coming for ps3.

And looking at the list. I think PS3 is just as good as the 360's lineup. Maybe cos i don't like Halo and love Final Fantasy.
