I cried when Lola died in Grim Fandango. Ezio's family being killed in AC2 was pretty sad too.

Chrono Cross. The scene where Serge briefly goes back in time to rescue Kid, with her eight year old self desperately hugging onto him and begging him to never leave her right as the rest of her family burns to death, after which he is forced back to the future, leaving her alone.

to be honest I don't think I've actually fully cried at a game... but when i was younger, the beginning of Kingdom hearts where they get split up made me teary... and in Republic commando at the end when Sev is left behind, that made me shout out and pray every night that they were working on a sequel game... sadly that never happened

(i also almost cried when i found that Star trek online is made by cryptic, and after playing the beta I've discovered its gonna fail simply because there could have been so much more done with it o_O)

FFVIII, Selphie at the graveyard talking to her dead friends.

End of Crisis Core. In fact, the entire last quarter(?) made me feel meloncholy, you just knew waht was going to happen, and you couldn't do anything about it, I almost wanted to stop playing. AND THEN THE GODDAMN END SCENE D;

First time I ever cried at a video game was when I was watching my Dad play Tomb Raider and he got killed in a spike pit. Think that was the first time I'd ever actually seen a video game character die. I was really little at the time.

I can remember crying at several stages in the Metal Gear Solid series, but the most powerful was Sniper Wolf's monologue before her death. I also cried when Meryl got shot and you couldn't do anything to help her. Also, Emma's death nearly reduced me to tears, but it was probably only because I felt so sympathetic towards Otacon. I really love that guy.

I always enjoy the storylines to the Final Fantasy series, but the only tear-jerking moments in it for me were in FFVIII, when Rinoa is in a coma, or when he dives out into space to rescue her - and in FFX, when Kimahri learns that his entire Clan is dead.

Many games have given the impulse of wanting to cry, but no game has really ever hit that crybaby spot yet.

Several games have made me cry. To believe games are somehow inferior at evoking strong basic emotions than movies or books is a rather silly argument.

It's not the media format that strikes someone emotionally, but how it's executed, among other, more personal factors (such as how well one relates to a character).

FFX at the end when Yuna ran through Tidus...I wasn't weeping uncontrollably, but I did have some tears there, a couple might have even fallen.

Yeah, I've gotten weepy...not from frustrating gameplay, but from the story elements. Tales of Symphonia comes to mind. Say what you will about some of the characters being annoying, some really sad shit happens to them, and they all have some pretty nasty inner demons. It's like playing a game adaptation of The Breakfast Club.

Only once. It was while playing MagaMan X during the fight with Sigma when
Zero broke out of the cage he was in and destroyed Sigma's armored carrier to give you a chance to break free of Sigma's electrical bonds, causing his (Zero's) own death in the process. I fucking loved Zero
Except that wasn't Sigma...
