Indeed I can. However, I can't exactly tell what kind of cuisine I prepare, though far more often than not, it's pretty damn good. This is kinda how it goes: "So, if I marinate meat X in a mixture of Y and Z with A, B, and F spices, let it sit overnight, prepare it the next day with vegetables H and J, and serve it over lambda, it should be pretty kickass."

I don't think about making a particular cultural variety of food, so much as what would work flavor-wise. It seems to work. It means that my recipes would be somewhat random, but good regardless. I love doing it.

Sure can. Tis my job. I've been cooking for 6 years or so now. It's fun stuff. Lately I've been working with woodovens. Oven fired pizzas, pastas, tons of fish. It's fun. I'm fairly good at baking too.

Cooking is another form of art. Everyone should try and learn a little

I guess it depends on what you count as cooking, I put food into the microwave/oven for however long it says to on the packaging. I also sometimes use a pan too make pasta parcels, and sauce but both the sauce and pasta is already made in the packet so I'm just following the instruction written on the back.

I've only started cooking seriously since I quit smoking and could actually taste how delicious things are.
How does smoking effect the taste of food? were you smoking like 40 cigarettes a day or something?

I can cook allright... Problem is, I seem to have a pretty poor imagination when it comes to food, so it's usually pretty basic stuff, omelette, pancakes, spaghetti bolognese, etc.

I can make a few things. Cincinnati chili is about as complicated as it gets, though. I'd really like to learn to do more, but I can't afford cooking classes, and my parents simply don't feel like teaching me (although I don't get why, because if I did, I could make dinner almost every night).

I can manage a pasta meal, and possibly anything that needs/can be grilled. My mom is encouraging me to cook more to help me before I go to a University, so possibly more.

Cooking is taught in schools, but it's optional. I learned how to cook before I began taking Food Studies and Comercial Cooking classes. In the end all I learned from them was that following a recipe is all you need. In my honest opinion, cooking classes are pointless, because any knowledge you gain from them can be easily obtained by reading the recipe.

They did teach me one important thing however, and that is how to use a whetstone, which is invaluable if you plan on cutting meat effectively (along with vegetables, and other things of course). They also taught me how to test the sharpness of a knive without cutting myself, quite an awesome thing to learn.

I do have cooking skills, I say I'm better at making desserts(I can bake a mean cheesecake) than I am at actual meals but I do have some skills. I was talking to a friend a couple days ago and he was telling me his room-mate fucked up kraft dinner. He ended up not cooking the noodles long enough.

Am I a gourmet chef? FUCK AND NO.

Can I cook competently enough that I wouldn't starve to death if all the fast food joints and pizza delivery places burned down? Absolutely. I cook well enough to keep myself nourished, but I'm not going to impress women with my skill. Definitely going to marry a great cook someday in the interest of...well, OK, much more than just that, but I'm just sayin'.

No, really, though. I think I'm a pretty good chef, I like to experiment and in most cases it turns out pretty good and I discover a lot by "playing".

Cooking is important. It's not taught in schools due to more focus on math and science due to the rise in information and jobs created by it. So, can you? Are you any good?

I cook a mean ramen, thanks to a recipe I've been tweaking with. I can also fry stuff, make a pasta, meat sauce and everything, and make soup. I've made a few sausage burgers too, and breakfasts are easy for me.

So, can you, how well can you, and what do you cook?
i've got 25 cooking skills i can cook a fair bit i know how to cook easy stuff e.g. pasta, soup
and frozen asemble-eble stuff, but i can aslo bake quite well i made a "good"black forest gatuae before and earned 200xp points

I consider myself a VERY proficient cook. I can cook a great many dishes from memory, which include Chicken Fettuchine Alfredo w/Broccoli (the sauce is hand-made) and Shrimp Alfredo. I can cook any cut of meat, but who can't do that? Furthermore,I can experiment...And it will taste good and be edible to boot...About 80% of the time.
Considering I'm self taught,can cook better than my older brother,who's 21 (I'm 18),and most people I know...Yeah.

I... can cook, yes.

:p

Yeah, I'm pretty good at cooking - I suffer from a lack of imagination, but everything I've tried my hand at has turned out pretty well. I'm not necessarily sure it's an innate talent or anything like that, more just that I'm always panicking about doing everything right and in order and neatly, so when things are supposed to sit in the oven for 30 minutes BY THOR THAT'S HOW LONG THEY WILL BE THERE, NOT A SECOND MORE OR LESS.

As far as what I cook goes... I make a mean chili, my steak and ale pies are particularly delicious, I make the best roast potatoes out of anybody I know, I'm mastering the art of the spiced-up-korma (because I love spicy things, but I also like how korma tastes...)

Oh, and I'm fairly proficient at the great british fried breakfast, but that's more a matter of juggling cooking 7 different things at the same time (sausage, bacon, eggs, mushrooms, black pudding, beans, hash browns, anything else I forgot) than any single item being tough to cook.

I do love to go absolutely nuts in the kitchen, preparing almost any kind of food. I can spend hours upon hours on it and be perfectly happy. Most days however, I won't. When I get home from a hard day's work I generally just toss any combination of meat and vegetables I find in a pan and get it over with. Naturally I always do my best to keep it balanced an healthy with a good combination of flavours, but during the week I generally can't be arsed to make anything too fancy or time consuming.
I've worked in the kitchen of a Michelin star restaurant for a few years and although I no longer do, I am still quite keen on neatly presented food and I'll always try to make it look as good as I can, even when eating alone. But the beef wellington with wild mushroom risotto, skin-baked seabass or calf filet with truffle sauce only make their appearance in the weekends when friends are coming over or on holidays nowadays.

I'm always quite surprised by people who say they can't cook or don't care about it. I mean no matter what you do, you'll always have to eat for the rest of your life, so why not learn to make something you like? And besides there are very few things which can bring people together as much as a properly cooked meal can.

Yes I can cook, if there is a recipe I will follow it to the letter, I am generally to lazy to cook most of the time, but If it has a recipe I can make it and make it well, if I have the ingredients. The last thing I made was chicken Marsala in a lovely sauce composed of a white Marsala whine, I can also bake extremely well from what I am told.

yeah i can cook, i do anything from pizza's to 5 course meals depending on what my mood is like

bribe me with beer and my mood goes out of the window tho :D

i dont "believe" in recipes..i prefer to try things out myself and usually they work very well
sometimes i do try some recipes i see in tv that look delicious but other than that i just combine basic knowledge of "what goes well with what" with my good taste
