As long as you don't kill them, I guess it's fine. Meat is meat, and you can eat whatever you want to. It's not kosher, but I guess it might even taste ok. But killing other human beings is wrong. Don't do that, please. But if you find someone lying dead in the street and you are really hungry, go for it, I guess. O_O

If there is no other food and it would be a long time until rescue, maybe. Otherwise, including no hope of rescue or escape, no.

In a desperate situation? Maybe. I don't think I could do it though, as desensitized as I am, eating another human being feels... wrong to me.

Eh I have no problems with it as long as its in a survival type of environment. If its just a sunday afternoon meal, then you obviously never heard of moderation. I mean, is it really easier to get a sautéed human head on a stick than a burger?

Well I LOVE meat, I guess I'll eat any kind of meat there is. I would have to draw the line at my own species though, seems a little weird to be eating someone who is 99% genetically related to you.

Errr... its weird and only necessary in a very (very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very) small number of situations.

Even if I was that desperate and I was fine with cannibalism (which I find is find wrong, whether your man or beast) I would expect human flesh to make me sick. Humans are loaded with toxins from our environment, and I would expect this to be reflected in our meat/blood/etc.

No, not even if I was starving. There are an array of brain related health issues associated with cannibalism not to mention it is disgusting and socially abhorrent.

Widespread Cannibalism May Have Caused Prehistoric Prion Disease Epidemics, Science Study Suggests: http://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2003/04/030411071024.htm

Brain diseases legacy of cannibalism: study: http://www.cbc.ca/health/story/2003/04/10/prions030410.html

So go on ahead. Risk it. Besides the fact that it is completely illegal in most industrialized nation and if you get caught you are going to prison. That or a mental health ward.

"Canabalism"? "Victems"? What are these things?

Anyway, when it comes down to it, and you have no choice, you'd all have serious issues with doing it regardless of what you say in this thread. Sure, you can say "I'd totes do it if I had to, guh!" but that's easy, you'd more likely either refuse to do it or take a long fucking time to.

On that note, if it was legal, morally and ethically acceptable in my culture and everyone else was doing it and was totally fine with it, wouldn't you? I imagine part of the question should be under those circumstances, a world where it's fine to do. I wouldn't 'like' to know how it tastes, per se, but in the afforementioned situation, I probably would. So would most of you.

Your views and opinions of canabalism.
Personally, I have nothing against it.
I'll let the Perk "Cannibal" speak for my view... it will give you bad karma. so beware

but Cannibalism is (my opinion) a fetish or something you don't go in the mall and wonder what you want for dinner and think of AHA! human flesh.

If I need to in order to survive, then I don't see the problem.
Otherwise, the only people I can morally justify eating are some that I wouldn't want to for health reasons :)

Hey, give me a fucking break, I speak english better than most of the americans/canadians/aussies/brits here, so don't give me shit about me missing an n in "cannibalism"...

The OP is canadian, and his grammar fails, he has no excuse...

So all the asshats quoting me and correcting me, telling me to GTFO, can kiss my ass...

Learn to speak your own damn language properly, and maybe even 3 foreign ones, fluently, like me, then correct me...
Oh my. A nerve appears to have been touched. Seeing you pointed out that the OP had done the same thing, you must surely be pleased that another pointed out your mistake, allowing you to fix it. It's not actually a big deal.

OT: As has been said, it can cause brain disease, and as such should be avoided unless necessary.

Cannibalism is only acceptable in survival situations or religious rituals (let me clarify that one: I'm not going to turn down food offered to me by an indigenous cannibal in some third world country. That would be disrespectful).
