Ok, let me set the scene.

My friend downloads this movie, he says 'Its wicked, been banned pretty much all over the planet. It's so graphic and gory, it was so good. People actually thought it was a Snuff film'. I said fair enough burn it for me and ill give it a look.

Now, seriously, What The Fuck!! That movie was horrible. I mean, I'm a fan of gore and violence, but fuck, that wasn't even funny. I made it about half way through the movie, up until the tribal people string up that pregnant chick, basically push the baby out, beat her to death with rocks then bury the baby in mud.. That was enough for me.

I ask this question. Is my friend insane for thinking the movie was great, and he maybe should be committed to a mental institution. OR. Am I soft for not being able to handle this movie. Also wondering if anyone else could actually sit through it all.

Havn't actually watched the movie but have read a lot about it. The fact that they actually killed real animals just for the purpose of theis movie sickened me.

Oh and if your friend likes it then he's just into that sorta thing, personally I think once youv'e seen one disembowlment/ decapitation you've seen them all.

I almost turned it off at the point they decapitate and cut open a turtle while its still alive. I though id give it one more chance to NOT be sickening.

It was meant to shock and horrify. If you can't handle it, you weren't meant to. Don't feel too bad, it just means that you're an inferior human who will probably be the first to be put to spear when Civilisation collapses around us and we descend into tribes and gangs, fighting eachother in the burnt-out ruins of our once-beloved cities, over the last remaining scraps of food we can find.

Well at least i think they push it out. There is a fuck load of blood and she is screaming her tits off (yes i am aware she might have been under normal circumstances too).

Id say im fairly desensitized too. I saw that clip that was going around of those terrorists sawing that guys head off on TV. That was gross but i thought nothing of it. This movie is just brutal though.

OMG! I signed up just to reply to this.

The movie is so lame. It was made solely for shock value, with no attention to anything else. Even worse is the ending where they try to slip in some LAME moral to the story. Some pathetic line where the guy is looking up at the city and he says "but who are the real savages?" and walks away.

It shouldn't have been banned for the gore, it should have been banned for bad writing, acting, and direction.

I would never watch it. I read the plot synopsis, and it looks and sounds terrible, in more than one way.

probably the most disturbing movie i have ever seen. ive seen people voting on the most disturbing movie ever and the only one ive seen top it is Men Behind the Sun, which I have been motivated to go watch by this thread. been sitting on my comp for over a year. i'm regretting it already
