Eh, the movie is a semi snuff film. It's not that bad. But then again I have an extreme tolerance for such things (minus the turtle death, that made me a sad panda). The director got arrested because everyone thought he murdered the cast. But other than that, no harm done.

Thats pretty gross.

That is what it takes for kids to bring guns to school

Not shooting an Grunt in the ass
I actually think that that movie is what can make kids KEEP guns from schools.
... I have odd logic, so ya know. That... and telling people I really am a cannibal made them paranoid that i'd use their guns and knives against them.
Also, Fortesque, you misspelled cannibal.
... XD Great, now i'm hungry.

This movie is a classic. Sure its gory and it did its job by getting a rise out of you. The whole theme of this movie is profound. It's about a group of journalists that set out to do a documentary of the 'barbaric' cannibals. However, when they got there they were pretty docile and they felt like they had to spice up their footage a bit by committing acts of violence, rape, and destruction. It turns out that the journalists themselves were the 'barbaric' people and they got theirs at the end. This story could be compared to real-world journalists today looking to sensationalize thing. Additionally, you can compare the story to some countries foreign policy and general attitude towards other countries.

The premise of this film is similar to the Blair Witch as their footage was found and we get to see what happened to them as they play the footage back.

And BTW, they weren't pushing a baby out, they were putting mud, twigs, and stuff IN. This was the ritual punishment for adultery. Although this part of the violence was extreme, there was a purpose in the form of a social ritual. The journalists killed for no reason and caused havoc to an otherwise peaceful people.

That movie was a pile of ass and I am glad that a friend let me borrow it. A shame because that took up a spot on her Netflix.

Because shoving stuff in makes it all that much better.

I'm really surprised that I'm unfamiliar with this movie. It sounds god awful.

The movie is banned internationally because it depicts animal cruelty.

Despite the gore, I actually thought it was a really great movie about getting what you deserve for interfering in other cultures. It challenges our perceptions of the media, and of `savage` tribes.

Killing turtles for your own movie is not cool though....poor turtles

Congrats, you are better at advertising this movie than they were. I hope you are proud of yourself Mr. Fortesque.

And look at this! Not one but 2 people have their first comment in this thread. Welcome to the Escapist Aziraphael and bugeater. Hope you enjoy it here!

Ok, let me set the scene.

My friend downloads this movie, he says 'Its wicked, been banned pretty much all over the planet. It's so graphic and gory, it was so good. People actually thought it was a Snuff film'. I said fair enough burn it for me and ill give it a look.

Now, seriously, What The Fuck!! That movie was horrible. I mean, I'm a fan of gore and violence, but fuck, that wasn't even funny. I made it about half way through the movie, up until the tribal people string up that pregnant chick, basically push the baby out, beat her to death with rocks then bury the baby in mud.. That was enough for me.

I ask this question. Is my friend insane for thinking the movie was great, and he maybe should be committed to a mental institution. OR. Am I soft for not being able to handle this movie. Also wondering if anyone else could actually sit through it all.
It's a great movie and not meant to be funny. It's an observance of two different kinds of people, both the documentarians and the tribespeople. Both are savage, but both are savage in different ways. The difference is that the documentarians think they are above the 'savages'. The documentarians murder multiple people for higher ratings and rape a young woman just because they can, however the tribespeople just do what they have to do to survive. In the end it's seen that both are just as savage, though the tribespeople have an excuse since they haven't been exposed to medical science or had their faith challenged. The documentarians are the worst because they KNOW what they're doing is wrong yet do it anyway.

Behind the gore it's a powerful statement.

Hm.... I just watched the movie. I must say, it was very intriguing. I wasn't disturbed or grossed out in any way, shape or form at the gore nor killing of animals. I actually enjoyed the part with the turtle because I have always wanted to see exactly what it was like.

+1 for stone hearts?

this movie was like the Blair Witch Project, when the director returned to Italy, he had the actors hide for a bit, to make everyone think they were dead. he got arrested for their "deaths" and had them come out of hiding to prove they were alive

it's a great movie and rather disgusting but that's the point.

i thought the movie was cool and i should probly watch it again cause it was sick and nasty
