you are hiding in the basement of a building, waiting for a deadly storm to pass. The storm has lasted for a month. you had no food, and the only way to live is to eat the other person next to you. if you eat him, you can live long enough to wait the storm over. You do not know this person, and the person is a male.
i myself would never do it. is sick and wrong. and even if i did, i could never live with myself.

Almost anyone put in the situation would eat the other person.

Those who wouldn't wouldn't because they are the one being eaten.

I'm not going to argue that eating a person would barely give you enough nutrition to live for a day, instead I'll just say: if it would work and I would live, hell yes I'd eat them.

Really? Cause some kid survived in the woods with like a stick of beef jerky for a week (and access to water).

I'd think a person would have more nutrition than a stick of beef jerky.

While I wouldn't kill him, I'd eat him if he was already dead... of course, I'd have to be pretty sure his death was from dehydration or starvation, not some contagious disease, although in that close of proximity I'd probably be screwed anyway.

However, if this fellow willingly offered himself to save others, I'd be more than willing to oblige.

If it's all I had to eat I'd kill and eat someone I didn't know to sustain my own life. Everyone here that says they wouldn't probably would too. They say they wouldn't, but I doubt very much they know what starving to death feels like.

If you DO know what starving to death feels like and you still don't think you'd kill and eat another person- conratulations. You have a much stronger moral center than I and all that. I doubt anyone with internet access and time to kill on the Escapist has ever been without food for an extended period of time though.

I'm lucky i have a slow metabolism and can sleep 18 hours a day if given the chance and nothing better to do.
and to answer your question, no. Killing someone and then cooking them sounds like to much effort, and i'm going to die anyway after the storm, its just a matter of when.

I don't know, the idea of eating a human doesn't really appeal to my taste buds, I keep thinking, "Wtf would he taste like?" and "Where would I start?" You can't just... bite into some dudes leg! I would need utensils and a fire to cook him on! Plus I don't really think I could eat after seeing all the blood from cutting him up.

Edit: If he came pre-packaged and on sale.... maybe..

I'd kill him while he slept and then carefully portion out the meat and cook it. Possibly find a way to dry the rest so it would still be edible after some time so that I'd be able to continue eating for at least a week or so.

Depends if I had adequate spices and cooking utensils. If I had say, a barbecue, some olive oil and garlic, and a good set of knives to kill and carve up my choice, I'd do it. If not, I don't think so.

Eh, it would probably seem like a tasty treat at the time but I'm not sure I could be bothered filleting and spicing the meat appropriately. I need a lot of salt on my meat as well, otherwise I find it bland. Plus, I don't like my meat rare or raw.

I would not resort to cannibalism though. If need be I'd go through the storm, no matter how deadly it is. I've also pondered about the gender question and I really don't think it matters, at least not to me.

Anyway, yeah, I probably would. Since I don't know him, it would be guilt-free for me.

More meat on a male than a female, but i suppose that would depend from person to person, wed need to know build etc. But what really would matter is if your an emo, coz would you pass up the phrase of saying to your friends after you got out "I baked you a Korean but i eated it"!
