William had no problems blocking her earlier attacks but the last ones were harder, still he was trained to fight against 2 swords as well as 1 he held his eyes on the blade blocking every swing she made.

Rias saw the opening she wanted, and went for it. with her sword held normal in the off hand, she did a half thrust into and upward slash intent on disarming him.*SNAP* "fuck ..." she instead, disarmed her self as her sword gave out under the stress she was putting on it and breaking it off near the hilt.

she sighed, and toss the stump a side in annoyance, weather or not she succeeded in disarming him was moot at this point, while she had other means of putting some one down at her disposal, the only one she was allowed to use just broke on her. "well that's that i guess" she said with a frown, clearly 'not done' in her mind

William saw the move too late he readied himself for the impact he used his second arm too. the slash broke her sword however his arms were shocking as an result. He had a very hard time holding onto his swords as his arms where shocking very heavily. Rias was so strong it almost scared him. "well that's that i guess" she said with a frown.

William wasn't in a state to go a second round. He smiled at her "We will have the next lesson tomorrow. And who knows you might even use your power, if you master the sword a bit better." He walked past her giving her a smile, that showed her that she had done well. And he began to flex his sore arms, he began setting up his tent.

Bom heard Fromanzio laugh and looked up from the last of his stew.
"...I was not speaking to you."

Bom didn't quite understand, but laughed anyway. That clown always laughed - sometimes in a bad way - but on this occasion, it was quite infectious.

"I have one!" said Bom, eagerly. "There was...there was...!"
Bom couldn't quite get the words out. As he remembered the joke, he found himself laughing too much to recite it properly
"And he!...AH, in the!..."
After a couple of minutes, his hysterics reached its peak, coming to what might have been the punchline.
"...And he died looking at it! HAHA!"

Bom was too busy trying to catch his breath to see what impact this joke had on the group. He just sat there, leaned back and shaking from the gut, upwards.

"you guys gonna set your tents?"

After finally calming down (despite the occasional relapse into giggling), Bom could get back to conversation.

"Wait, what was that about stone men, Buvor?"

'well its an old story I heard, well it is more of a rumour but still interesting. To the very west of ethsich there is a strange occurrence, the forest just stops, no leaf, no blade of grass passes this invisible line. Things simply don't approach this line, it is as if everything this person knows and is, is telling them to stay away. Prey on the run a predators will simply stop at this point and gets torn to shreds.' The buvor stopped as he poured himself some more stew

'Those who go to study this line will set up camps 50 or 100 meters away, some go up to it but no one crosses it. These men claim that on some nights they can hear the beats of hearts, most turn away from that wretched place at that point but those who stay see much worse. They claim that on some nights there will a row of stone men standing at the line, with blue veins, beating hearts and hands and feet made out of light, simply staring at them with a single eye. Those men say that that single stare gave them a clear, message. leave. Though I met a man who didn't leave, stayed their for another week with a co-worker. Though that night the two men woke up one of the stone men was standing over the co-worker, tore out the man's heart without piercing the flesh and without leaving a wound. He told me he simply ran into the forest and never looked back.'

The Buvor ate a bit more of his stew and said 'Some people from ethsich claim they have see these men of stone walk through the forest. But to be honest I say these stone men should leave behind some trace of their existence and I have never been to the border myself, so I can't even confirm if this whole line thing is true, but its a good to know about any folklore, I mean every magical simply came into existence at some point. I imagine the first man to ever see a dragon was in for a big surprise, short one but still pretty big.'

"sounds like the thing we killed the other day" Rias said as she got up and dug out the journal with the info she wrote down on the one they fought "think it could be connected?"

"Too much of a coincidence not to be connected if you ask me." Claire said, finally speaking up a little. "Though, any encounter with these so called stone-men should be avoided; we had enough trouble with one, I don't want to visit their home land. What more, I don't want to start a diplomatic incident when we already have more then enough crazy mages to deal with.

"That said, more information is better." Claire though before returning to their roadside companion. "Do you know any other stories about the Stone-men, or any other creatures from around these parts?" she asked, genuinely curious.

'well I told you everything I know about the stone men, but non have ever been seen even half way across ethsich, yet alone in embla' The buvor then stroked his long goatee 'As for other creatues, 1. most consider being looked in the eye as a challenge to fight, 2. fairies will try their hardest to get you into trouble, tough will never directly harm you, 3. forest trolls sleep standing up and can be easily mistaken for a tree so be careful colliding with trees, 4. if its bright and colourful, it will be poisonous or venomous, 5. just because its a plant doesn't mean it won't try to eat you and finally, 6. there is always something that no one else has seen before.' The buvor, then yawned, 'well if you excuse me I am going to hit the hay' he said heading for his tent.

"...And he died looking at it! HAHA!"

Fromanzio looked at the Yama, more than a little puzzled. Then he shrugged and thought Ah, what the hell, I'll laugh anyway. He let out a final laugh before diverting his attention to the lands. Truth be told, he had done little adventuring outside of escorting goods. As such, a tiny bit of info was always nice.

Fromanzio took note on the plants, though he could care less about stone men who eat hearts, or whatever. They seemed to blow up like any other creature and that meant they were of little threat to the jester.

While Fromanzio could have kept walking for days, the rest of his companions seemed to have less energy and he understood waiting a little bit. There were after all, worse things than sleeping. "Right well, Fromanzio is going to comply." He set up his tent and went to sleep.

Rias blinked a few times, she could feel the day catching up to her "guess I'll go crash out to" she said with a yawn and an eye rub "night" and crawled into her tent and went to sleep

William listened to the tale of the old man. He was pondering if there could be any truth to it when everybody decided to go to bed. William had the same thoughts "Goodnight all of you." He went into his tent, William was tired and fell asleep rather quickly.

Bom didn't even bother to erect his tent. He was too tired to fiddle around with all those poles and pegs, so he simply climbed under the flat canvas and immediately dropped off to sleep.

The next morning after the group split paths with the buvor they continued their journey, it wasn't long till they reached the border. The surrounding changed from fields and bushes, to thick and varied forest. After about 4 hours of travel the group saw a smashed caravan and a group of 5 sophronius in the distance.

Due to the effects of heavy spell use in the area all you characters have enhanced emotional reaction (i.e. if something would make you slightly angry, sad, happy, etc. it makes you angry, sad or happy etc.) your characters are also slightly more open to suggestions then normally.

*Flashback*
As the others went to sleep, Claire stayed up - deciding to take first watch. Claire claimed she wasn't quiet tired enough to sleep yet to any that asked, but this was merely a white lie. The battle between Rias and William had been a long struggle, and the snapping of the stick at the end had brought her own hand down to her back, tracing the broken hilt of her rapier.

When all was finally quiet, Claire grabbed the unbroken, discarded stick and started practicing; adapting her fencing style to the longer, heavier weapon.
*End Flashback*

Claire was all but asleep on her horse. Though she had only practiced for perhaps an hour, it had been enough to delay her sleep long enough to prevent proper rest. She hardly noticed when their companion left, and did not become fully aware of the fact until nearly half an hour later. She remained silent most of the trip, trying to avoid the thorn in her side that was her commander.

As they rounded a corner however, all sense of lethargy left her; the sight of a destroyed caravan saw to that. Almost as soon as she saw it, she pulled tight on the bridle of her horse, hoping to save anyone who might still be alive - such was her duty. As she drew closer though, the annoyance that had been eating at her for the last two days sprung to life unexpectedly; urging her to punch that smug prick face of his into the dirt. Though the idea of such a moment brought elation to her - far more then she would have expected - she resisted it. After all, she was nothing if not duteous.

Bom inhaled as the caravan came into sight. A flurry of questions buzzed around like a swarm of bees. Unable to curb his sudden curiosity, Bom scampered straight up to the group of sophronius. He immediately began firing questions at them, not even taking the time to bow to them first.

"What happened here? Did you do this? Who are you?"

The sophronius turned around, they looked like feral wolfs, growling with a blood covered jaw, claws at the ready and pupils fully dilated. behind them could be seen the unrecognisable bodies of the caravan owners and what ever animal they used to pull the caravan.

the trip to the border had been quiet, as things she was gather where on the road, she notices Claire practically a sleep on her horse and asked if she had a poor nights sleep, but the lack of response indicated she didn't hear her.

when the wreckage came into view, how ever she was right be hind Claire as she ran up, Rias knew it wouldn't be from the tropes, they would still be in Embla this time of year, but she non the less felt an over whelming fear it was until she confirmed it in fact to be some one else's, and started looking for survivors

The night had been unusually quiet. Fromanzio was unhappy and irritated because it had been a few days since his last murder. Just as he was contemplating murdering his leader, a caravan came into his sight. It was wrecked and he almost squeed in delight. Then when the bloodied Sophronious turned around, Fromanzio's smile got so wide it looked as if it would go clean off his face.

Fromanzio wasted no time. He immediately dashed at the Sophronious and jumped clear over their heads, dropping a fire and explosive bomb. When he landed, he grabbed two knives and had them ready in case the bombs failed.

William had slept quite well he still felt a bit sore from all the beatings though. William and the rest of the party had been traveling for an few hours. William had been quite irritated for a while now. He was angry about Claire and her view of life. What did she now?! She had spend most of her life in an mansion, getting whatever she wanted at long as she asked for it. He wanted to safe her live as soon as he could, so he that the promise was fulfilled.

During their travel they found an wrecked caravan. Dead bodies were lying around the caravan, that was what was left of the bodies. A group of angry looking Sophronious were standing around the caravan. Fromanzio dashed away throwing an bomb in their midst. William smile grew he really felt like fighting someone right now. He grabbed his new sword and he waited for the explosion, charging right after the explosion to catch the survivors off guard.
