Rias had finished setting up her tent and had gone back to the fire to wait
"Are you ready for your first lesson Rias?"
she took the wooden sword and nodded, taking a few swings to adjust to the weight of the thing, her constructs didn't have any weight to em so it was diffrent
William looked at Rias swinging the sword around for a bit. William also began to feel the weight of the sword, and he took a few practice swings. "Well let's start with the basics shall we?" He looked at Rias before continuing. "A longsword is a very versatile blade, you can use it to stab, slash, or chop." William demonstrated each of the 3.
"Most weapons are limited to 1 or 2 attacks most swords are not. There are exceptions such as the rapier which can only be used to stab. But an axe for example can only be used to chop. And a spear can only be used to slash or stab. When fighting an opponent it is key to remember what kind of attacks he can use and use this to your advantage when countering." William looked at Rias. "Do you understand what I just said?" William was trying to teach her how to fight with an sword, but a big part of that is reading your enemy and knowing what he can and can't do.
Rias nodded "some of that i knew already, well sorta, in the basic sense of 'different weapons are for different things'" she said as she got a feel for the wooden weapon
Claire remained focused on her stew, though her mind was intently focused on something very different: the battle between Rias and William. Though it pained her to admit it, Claire had been bested in her duel with William. Thus, he was obviously the better swordsman, and she could stand to learn from him. Her pride prevented her from asking for such training, but nothing prevented her from just watching and learning.
Or at least that was the plan until she heard Fromanzio. "Wait... you tell jokes?"

Well some weapons have obvious weakness such as an longsword has more range then an short sword. Anyway let's see what you have before going on with the lesson." William took an defensive stance. "You are only allowed to use that wooden sword and now try to defeat me." William smiled as he waited for her to attack. He had to know what she could do before he could teach her things.
Rias gave a smirk " aww ... and here i though it could use 'the harvesters'" her tone was sarcastic, but her eyes had a serous tint to them, and for the first time their slight glow would be noticeable.
she hadn't moved much as he hopped back, as she was sizing him up, after a few seconds of not coming up with a plan of attack, she just attacked, deciding to do what she always did, adapt to them.
she took about three steps and took a over head swing aimed at his left shoulder, she knew he could easily block or counter but it was only the opening move
" aww ... and here i though it could use 'the harvesters'" William smiled at her, when he saw an strange glow in her eyes. She stepped forward and went for an over head strike aimed at his left shoulder. William blocked the attack with the flat side of his sword. He then moved his sword hitting her sword to the side, as he stabbed aiming for her stomach. He was giving her some time to block to see how skilled she was in blocking.
Rias opted to not block and instead used her flexibility and reflexes and rolled to her right, the wooden sword grazed her enough for her to feel it, but in her side was roll she use the momentum to take another swing at him, this time aiming for his ribs, protected as they where
William saw that she rolled to the side. he quickly turned to see that she aimed a blow at his ribs. he manged to block just in time he was surprised by her combat prowess. If they had been evenly matched with the sword he would have probably lost. Still they were not evenly matched, he jumped back and then quickly charged forward. He began an series of quick blows to try and look how goos she was at blocking, he didn't give her the time to dodge.
Fromanzio laughed and nodded his head, finishing his stew before he continued talking. "Of course he does! Many times Fromanzio has had to literally play the fool to get into someone's good side or house. Mostly to stab them later. For example!
"A lord comes home to his fair maiden with a goose in his hand. The lord says "Tis be the hog I lay with every evening". His maiden says "That be not a hog, tis a goose." The lord says "I was not speaking to you.""
Fromanzio burst out into laughter uncontrollably before finally calming down and he asked. "Anything good on your part?"
Rias did her best to block the incoming blows, deflecting most of them, but it was clear she focused more on evasion then blocking out of habit, another thing that was fairly obvious is her off hand tried to move in a way that indicated she normal had something in it, before she forced it to stay on the training sword
William noticed that she relied on using her evasion rather then blocking. It made sense since she was an dancer. William stopped his assault as he stepped back. "What off hand weapon do you normally use?" He knew that training her with an sword was futile if she would use an off handed weapon, so he needed to train her with both.
"both, normally, but that's really out of convince, i can make more then weapon at a time so i do when i have to" she said rubbing a spot that let her know she sucks at blocking "can't very well ask some one to buy me two swords, just one is costly" she said, frowning she couldn't have gotten the sword her self "also, i tend to prefer ... less conventional weaponry in close quarters"
she said popping the caps on the bottles on her left side, the mist flowing out then hardening into a single handed scythe with the blade pointed down, the blade it self long enough that from her shoulder level the blade was even with her ankle "clearly, this is the expensive, special order thing that i just don't have the money for, and since this is only half of the combo i use, i can't ask some one to foot the bill" Rias returned the weapon to mist, and the mist to her bottles and resealed them."but they screw with heads, both in terms of visuals and how some goes about defending against them" while out the construct was different then her normal constructs, it wasn't translucent, but solid, there was also ornate detailing along the blade and the grip looked worn, and just over all had a very different feel then the bare constructs she normally used, hinting this one was special some how "so i need to learn how to use normal weapons, unless i find away to make my constructs harder or fix my limitations so it doesn't matter if they break"
William looked surprised at her choice of weapons. "Well that looks pretty exotic.. But a smith for a big city is sure to make it if you pay enough.. I could ask some contacts once we are in the city. Maybe we could make those weapons for you. Has to be a very big city though. Maybe the best smith in the country.. would take quite long though."
"i can't a ford a normal weapon with out help, so my Harvesters are out of the question" Rias said readying for another round "anyway .. we're not done i don't think"
"anyway .. we're not done i don't think" William smiled as he prepared to go another round. He got the feeling she was planning something. He began to walk in circles in defensive postilion.
Rias matched his circling, with one of her own she also turned slighting to minimize the places he could target if he attacked first, she also switched to her off hand, and held the weapon 'backwards', she wanted to try something before calling it a night.
after a few moments she lunged, intentionally wiffing the first swing, changing hands and thrusting for dead center on his breast plate
William watched her charge and moved his sword to block the blow. the was she held her sword made him worried, and he was looking for any surprise attacks she might pull.
William's block didn't phase her in the slightest, she took a few more swings with the sword held normal, nothing she expected him to have trouble blocking or parrying before switching around to the 'backwards stance' again all the while switching between hands as she attacked
The buvor gave out a loud dry laugh after framanzio told his joke, 'well that was a good one' the buvor then looked at clair and bom 'well you two haven't talked much any reason or just feel like you have nothing to say?' he paused for a moment before saying 'if neither of you two having anything to say wanna here about the legend of the stone men?'
