The forums on the Escapist are very meta. Most of what Off-Topic Discussion discusses is the Escapist community. The only problem is there's a very noticeable difference between who talks to who, and about who. You'll notice a lot of people talk about MaxTheReaper and NeonBob. They all have their own in-jokes, their own community, their own thing.

Then you see people like me. Talking about the mods before they were mods, or inside jokes from ages ago. There's a big divide there, huge gaps where two communities occupy the same close space, yet have nothing to do with one another. It seems odd that there's a gap, yet no bridges being built for it.

Personally, I'd like to see it changed. So, I'm doing what I can. The I Bet He's Cockney II [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/forums/read/18.143644] thread is an attempt to bridge that gap a little, but I'm not sure it's enough by itself, so I'm making this thread solely for the point of encouraging conversation between these two communities.

Well, I guess everything starts with an introduction. I'm NewClassic, joined these forums about a year ago after deciding I was going to be a review writer for the User Reviews section. It wasn't until I really stumbled on Off-Topic that I became a part of the community. I stumbled on the first version of the Cockney thread, and it was all downhill from there.

So, if you feel like introducing yourself and telling me a bit about you, feel free to do so. Sit down, grab a drink, and chill out. See if we can at least thin this gap a bit.

I'm Pimppeter, I joined these forums at the end of last year. I was trolling around here watching ZP for a while before I joined. The day the best forum ever (sorry Escapist) oblivionsource.com crashed, I joined here to fill my lack of forum. Its been a blast here, but I've had my fair share of run ins with the mods. (Banned and Resurrected twice). But I assure you that those where only misunderstandings. I spend most of my time in offtopic. I like to make jokes in almost every thread I enter. Still, the morally ambiguous side of me tries to get into Religious thread, not to spread Christianity, but to help our wide population of Atheists understand were the everyday Christians come from. I've met some awesome guys here. I review semi regularly, I've done about 7 reviews with a increasing degree of success. I'm not your stereotypical gamer. I consider myself by the new age word "popular" amongst my school. I enjoy working out, and playing and watching sports the same or more than I enjoy gaming. On the Escapist I enjoy making in appropriate jokes, writing funny reviews, and giving cookies to people for guessing my quotes.

The User name is a bit odd for a 16 year old. "Pimp" is pretty much a tween word nowadays. Still, that's the username I made when I joined Oblivion source some 5 years ago. I have kept it in its memory. I miss my family back at Oblivionsource, but you guys are awesome too

*I am currently hating Firefoxe's inability to catch the capitalized I's when I type*

I jump from thread to thread about military topics, correcting those in need of correcting. It's what I do best.

I'm ae86gamer, but everybody just calls me AE. I joined these forums a few months back. I originally joined to just read the reviews but I stayed because of the community. I jump from section to section. I am an avid RPer and the Escapist introduced me to it, something that I'm thankful for because RPing rocks.

Almost everyone will recognize me because of my love of high fives. Sorry, but they're awesome.

I think breaking up into groups is only natural. Remember highschool when the teachers/authority figures attempt to get you to hang out with "other" groups. How well did that turn out? Im open to talking to everyone, of course, but we arent children...well some of us are...we dont need a slap on the hand and a play date.
I'd like to reiterate, from the opening post, is the "if you feel like" in the third to last sentence. I'm not forcing anyone to mingle. I'd like to bridge the gap, and for those willing to join me, all the better. To those that aren't, why bother caring about this thread? Just ignore it, and it won't cause you any bother.

So, your call. I'm not forcing anything.

Interesting thread, I think.

I'm Mozared, and have been around for around half a year. I first came to the site when noticing some topics on the OT boards on the sideline of a ZP video. When I realized the topics here were actually interesting I started posting more and more. When I figured out the Escapist community is probably the brightest I've seen around online, I became more of a regular.

I don't really feel like I'm part of one specific community here though, even though I recognize some names now and then. It's probably because I hold the entire Escapist forum in such a high regard that I automatically respect anybody I meet over here.

I'm Wildrow12, and I came here seeking asylum from the ever present tide of
idiocy and flame wars which are part of most other forums (which is akin to complaining about getting wet on a kayak, I know).

I think I first signed up when there was a discussion about D&D (being the tabletop zealot that I am) and I've stayed since. You'll see me saying random crap at random hours to random people, these days.

But mostly I'm here to learn, to share, and to educate the world about the dangers of sticking your head into a Bag of Holding.

*sits down, grabs a drink, and chills*

Hey all. I'm Bofus Teefus, aka Bofus, aka Mr. Teefus, aka That Bald Bastard who just knifed my heavy.

I've been here since January and still feel new. I've been able to get into some fun games of TF2 and L4D on XBL with a few of our other member, and really enjoy the players I've met from the site. I've been meaning to write a couple reviews in our review forum, but haven't been able to due to time restraints.

I'm Mookie_Magnus, but most just call me Mookie. I joined the Escapist in the early parts of this year, and I've been through a lot with it. I was here for the mid-february raid. I was here for the start of Genre Wars. I've been watching There Will Be Brawl since it started, and ZP since before I joined.

Like many here, I was lured by the superfluous cynical swearing of Mr. Croshaw, but I saw the forums and I liked them. In an act of coincedence, my very first forum post was actually quoting someone we all know. My first forum post was a quote of MaxtheReaper, although I had no knowledge of anyone here at the time.

Now, I'm a fairly well recognized member of the Escapist, quite well known in the RP section. I've always behaved myself, having yet to receive any punishment by any moderator. Some might call me fearful, some might call me cautious, but one thing's for sure. Everyone calls me a true Escapist. And if you don't... Well, you will.

I love you guys... So much.

*High-fives AE*

*jumps in*
I love meeting new people!
*glomps a random person*

You can call me Azura or Megan. Either one works. I love them both.
I have been here since April and was introduced when a friend of mine showed me Unskippable (Yes you heard that right... I wasn't introduced to the site by ZP). As you can probably tell from my user name, I am a lover of anything blue and wolves.
I can be a ***** but for some reason people love me. Don't know why. I am very impulsive and random.
Feel free to send me a message. I love new friends.

I'm cloudywolf13. I like to memorize trivial facts about things only I care about and then spout these facts to show how pathetic I am.
