Good morrow, dear Escaparios. I'm your friendly neighbourhood Labyrinth, otherwise known as LaCoil, Tess or that one with the Bowler hat. Feel free to drop by and say hello. Contrary to popular belief I am not in the habit of crucifying people for doing that, though it may be a good idea to bring a Kitten Defence Barrier Array.

I've been here for a long time. Hell, I made a thread which has been around longer than most regular users. While parts of the forum irritate me I still enjoy it and plan to keep doing so far into the future.

Hello, greetings, and other random manners of initiating contact.
I am Neonbob.
When I first joined, I posted quite rarely. That phase lasted until around mid-January this year. The reason I became more active was because of one man. Daye.04.
I followed him into the Forum Games and RP section, and there I flourished. I've made four threads, one of which was a very successful forum game.
While I realize that it is a very silly thing to be proud of, my ego is...pleased at my count, and my clean moderation record.
That is not to say that I lord it over people, and I know many people probably think of me as one of those low-content spam posters.
More recently, I have shifted more into the Off-Topic forum, and slowed down considerably.

I plan to be here for as long as I am allowed, which I hope will be for years.
No, I have no life, and yes, I am proud of that.
Good to meet you all.

I'm LockHeart. I joined up back in April after a prolonged period of lurking while I watched the Zero Punctuation video. I was mainly tempted by the quality of discussion I saw after clicking on a few of the threads in the 'Hot Topics' section but since joining I've gotten into RPs big time and I'm now a regular face in the RP section. At this point, they probably take up most of my posts.

I have yet to be on the receiving end of any moderator wrath (fingers crossed) and I'm always up for a good debate on politics, as a number of posters in the off-topic section can probably attest to. I'm currently bandying some ideas for an RP around in my head, but it has yet to take real form.

One day, one day.

I am Khedive Rex and I approve of this thread.

I came to The Escapist in July of last year, making me an official oldie I guess. After a short run in off-topic I migrated to the RP forum (once it was made. I'm pretty sure I was here before it was) where I frolicked through my golden years. I started two RP's that people seemed to like and played in more than I can remember. I participated in two of the Ratings Wars and won the two I played in. I did a short stint writing for Queen of Hearts, which is a Star Wars novel being constructed by Mshcherbatskaya and Ultrajoe and easily the most in depth thing on this forum. I ran in the first Escapist Election and, though I didn't win, I had a jolly old time in one of the most epic threads the Escapist has seen. I was also the creator of the first 'I Bet He's Cockney Thread' which is more famous than I am these days.

Unfortunately when the RP forums started to get full of low content games and poorly written RP's I sort of lost my anchor to this site. I'm still around but it's hard to know where I'll post from one day to the next. I enjoy politics and philosophy but find ninety five percent of the disscussions people have about them to be unbearable. I love puzzles in a way that's not entirely healthy. I am (or at least, certainly feel like) the only person on the site who has devoted serious effort to studying astrology, numerology and other forms of divination. That being said I'm also more than happy to explain the argument that ghosts exist and bigfoot is living in the local arboretum; I'm weird.

In my freetime I act, I write and I read. I'm fairly good at all those passtimes. If anyone wants to talk, my PM box is always open. I'd be happy to provide astrological readings, puzzles or just witty banter.

Cheers.

Hi, umm, Im RavingPenguin. Im kinda new here, I joined at the start of this year. Im a raver and a gamer, and Im known around here as more of a level headed poster. I prefer to utilize a more expansive vocabulary than most, and have a tendency to go spelling/grammar nazi on people.Thats not to say I cant be silly though. I run, with the help of a robust team of admins and plenty of user support, the second biggest user group, The Anime Fans [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/groups/view/Anime-Fans] group (drop by, we have fun in chat). I dont know what else to say really.

*Waddles away to go play with glowsticks.

I think breaking up into groups is only natural. Remember highschool when the teachers/authority figures attempt to get you to hang out with "other" groups. How well did that turn out? Im open to talking to everyone, of course, but we arent children...well some of us are...we dont need a slap on the hand and a play date.
I vaguely remember them trying. I also vaguely remember spitting in someone's face. This was before the tragic accident where someone bashed me in the skull with a crowbar. When I finally regained consciousness a year later, I found that the teachers at my school no longer attempted this exercise.

Hi, my name is Kajin and I am a compulsive liar.

By the way, Mr. Obama said to tell you all hi before I log off and rejoin him in the hot tub at the vacation resort in thailand we both privately own.

Hey, neat thread! Thanks NewClassic! =)

I'm justnotcricket, and I happen to be very fond of the Escapst and its community. I joined the forums early last year, but have been on the site for about a year before that. As you can see, I'm not a prolific poster, but I read a lot of threads and comment in the ones that particularly take my eye =) I guess you could call me an old hand on these forums, but I suppose it'll have to be as the relatively silent observer...

Part of the reason for my slim post count is that any Escapism I indulge in has to be crobarred into my schedule as a research chemist. Chemistry, as I should warn all those interested in getting into it, (what, no rush of eager volunteers? =P) takes an enjoyable but prohibitively long time to research ;-). Outside the lab, when I get the chance to see natural light and not live in a slightly chilled vacuum, I play in an orchestra and do ballet - and game of course!

Nice to meet you all! =)

[HEADING=2]HI![/HEADING]

I'm traceur_. I came here after looking for Unforgotten Realms videos and then joined to forums to bash on mobile phones, I hate mobile phones. I a traceur (obviously), I love parkour, I love running, jumping, climb, moving, dodging. I hate standing still and I hate moving slow. I love Pepsi and I hate PETA. I hate believers in the paranormal and will promptly bash and belittle those that do, as you've guessed, I'm not the nicest guy around but I like me. I love Micheal Bay and all kinds of fun, if something isn't fun, it's bad.

Now you know about about me, you may judge me harshly and strip the flesh from my bones or worship me as your God-King and sacrifice a virgin at an alter dedicated to me. It's your pick.

[HEADING=1] HELLO MORTALS [/HEADING]
My name (alias) is Shine-osophical. I joined in the late first half of the year and enjoy open discussions about topics such as religion. I myself do not believe in the existence of a God and find people who are bigoted and prejudiced to be quite infuriating. I tend to fight fire with fire so don't think ill of me if you see me fighting the bigoted with bigotry or the rude with rudeness or any other such retaliation. I enjoy video games and to obtain all the desired games I want I will have to own every new-gen console around. I am dark-humoured, an Australian, and wish that Peter Molyneux (i think that is how you spell it) would just make fable 2 and 3 for the computer as I would really not rather buy a 360 for 2 games. I am also all for personal-use-piracy (the no profit kind) as long as you either have the intention of buying the game if you like it or if you were never going to buy it if you didn't pirate it (as there would be no lost profits).

By the way, the Escapist has an IRC channel [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/chat] which is great for hanging out and chatting with the other people around. There's a java client at the above link which works but other things such as mIRC, Nettalk, Chatzilla and the like are also popular.

The people who chill out on IRC tend to be erratic, fun and friendly. Drop by and say hello, but fair warning that addiction is common.

Hi, I'm Sennz0r. The people who know me a bit longer 'round these parts just call me Sennz, which I like.

I came to the Escapist well over a year ago, at first only for the Zero Punctuation episodes until I suddenly felt the urge to comment on a particular thread so I registered an account here. From then on I was lurking mostly in Off-Topic, staying below the radar Most of the time. I just had one run-in with the mods due to my period of frequent posting-just-for-the-sake-of-posting, and from then on I frowned upon people with insanely high post-counts in a ridiculously short amount of time, because there were only a few possible ways in which you could get that many posts. I may be sizing up a couple people in a wrong way but that's how it works.

After being introduced to the Escapist IRC channel my forum visits started to diminish. I met a lot of nice people there who I still talk to on there or keep in touch with in other ways. However, I still made time to enter an art contest on here, write a little review and watch little kittens on webcams.

I've been away for a couple of months because of exams but I'll probably be around more often now that uni's starting.

Ssshhh only the cool kids know about that.... >.>

Anyways, I am Neosage, back in the Holly Rebellion of '08' I fought as a black mage against pretty much everyone at somepoint. People call me Neo on IRC. I think I need to post more, I stopped for some reason. I would like to think I am fairly well known in Nuke's Crew and fairly unknown in Max's Crew and very good friends with The Breadbox Bunch

I'm Danny Ocean.

I joined about, ooh, lemme check... 16 months ago now. Guess that makes me an oldie, heh. I spent my first few hundred posts in the roleplay forums under the guidance of Jallil and Mobius. I've made a few very popular threads, although my primary concern on the forums now is the
[HEADING=2]PC Clan! [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/forums/read/9.81348#1081992][/HEADING]
[sup]Knew I'd get that in somewhere.[/sup]

I helped nag the staff into getting the escapist its gaming servers. That's alpha, beta, and UK tf2 (Click the PC thread link), and also got the ball rolling (Or so I like to think.) for the gaming tournaments with the extravaganzas, which are now a regular occurrence (Every Tuesday at 9pmGMT). I've devoted a fair bit of my time to this community, and I doubt I'll be leaving it any time soon. If you want some PC help or just to play a few games with other escapists, get in touch with me. For now, though, here's a cool picture:

Well, I guess introductions are in order. *straightens the tie and adjusts the black trilby*

Hello.

I go by the internet pseudonym Housebroken Lunatic. The reason for my chosen screen name is because I really am one.

You won't get to know me personally on these messageboards, nor will you ever see a picture of the real me. The reason for this is because a face gives my statements a connection to a real human being. And since all human hold some sort of prejudice towards their fellow man and when people do this, they tend to disregard much of what is being said (especially the more controversial statements) and instead make up excuses for why the person is saying them. (like: "He doesn't really mean that. He's only saying that because blablablalba etc. etc.")

I hate it when people does that, so you will only glean some pretty trivial details about who I really am, at best, but nothing more than that. Instead I prefer to be the "faceless stranger" or the "uncertain element" if you will. It will help everyone to keep discussions less personal, and hopefully not steal too much attention away from the points I'll be trying to make...

Another chemistry type? We've got a few of you poor, poor souls here. I almost was one myself, but saw the Biology/professional grad school light before it was too late. Got out just in time to avoid taking the dreaded P-chem.

Hello brothers, my name is Chronobreak. I've been here for over a year now, seen a lot of people come and go, been involved in my fair share of discussion, and I guess my claim around here would be one of The Escapist's resident conservatives, and founder of The Conservative Council user group. I am not a blinded sycophant, however, and always invite discussion on many issues that I may have a right-leaning perspective on. I am relatively anonymous around these parts, and I would not mind making some new friends on here to supplement the great relationships I have made already.

If you've chosen the Escapist, you've already taken the curve on a rollercoaster of awesomeness, and I will take this opportunity to welcome all new users and old alike. Sorry if this came off like a dating ad or something!

Don't be daunted here by people that seem to have a cult-like following. They spend vast amounts of time and energy on this site, and the fruits of their labor is nothing more than credibility on one of a million websites around the world. Take the time to make more personal relationships, and you will be rewarded not by infamy and name-dropping, but by true friendship that endures even as our community changes.

Thank you for your time.

Hello, I'm Zombie_Fish.

I'm a laptop salesman from Algeria who was driving a van full of high end laptops to one of my more lucrative clients when tragedy struck! A spontaneous matter transferral occurred and I was thrown straight down a series of tubes and plugs. When I awoke, I found myself trapped on this very forum and it is here I still remain.

And I'm pretty sure only Diagonal Horizontality will get that referance.

As for about me, I initially heard about The Escapist by an old friend of mine who introduced me to Zero Punctuation shortly before last year. However, I only decided to sign up in March after noticing advertisements for March Mayhem and decided to see what this was about (not to vote for the winners, may I point out).

At first I was... albeit, an ass. But as time went by I found the error of my ways, and recently found even more errors of said ways, and have been trying to make up for these mistakes following that. Because of this, I haven't been posting as determinedly as I used to, but I suppose that's a good thing in a way.

I have had a very nice and personal friendship here with Neon -- who I met in the Forum Games -- and have recently grown more and more into a nicer person on these forums nowadays, and I hope the same happens to other people who are new to the site.

Also, I'm and admin and regular on the Forum Badges thread and the Badge Hunters group, so if you have anything about those pictures beneath your joined date, feel free to ask me and I'll see how well I can answer it.
