Just got back from the midnight showing and I am completely bushed... the movie was good though. Did anyone else see it at midnight? What'd you guys think?
I'll go into more detail after wake up from my coma tomorrow, but I'll run through a quick list of pros and cons (spoilers will be tagged).
Pros:
- It delivered on action, humor and overall fun
- The fight scenes were pretty good
- Chris Evans is as much Steve Rogers as Robert Downing Jr. is Tony Stark
- The Avengers universe references/building was well done
- Stan Lee's cameo sneaks up on you (which is a good thing)
- Tommy Lee Jones steals every scene he is in (which is way more than I thought by the way)
- Dum Dum Dugan is in it (even if they don't mention his name for some reason >.>)
Cons:
-
- The war-movie style montage halfway through was a bit too campy and the CGI was weak/gimmicky (probably for 3D)... thankfully the montage is pretty short
- They never show Steve's training beyond basic, nor do they mention how he learned how to be such a boss with his shield
- Red Skull isn't fleshed out quite enough
- The ending is kind of abrupt
Overall I liked it a lot and thought it did its job well. I'd rank it up as about as good as Thor and a bit better than Incredible Hulk. Both Iron Man films still outdo it though.

Bucky's death was super lame
