The infamous Australian gangland killer Carl Williams is dead.

A brief biography can be found at the bottom of the linked article.

http://au.news.yahoo.com/thewest/a/-/mp/7079997/gangland-killer-carl-williams-dead-in-prison/

EDIT: I posted this because he was a significant underworld character in Australia, and represented in the recent "Underbelly" TV series.

And no, he is NOT my fucking hero or anything. You didn't HAVE to click on this thread, so don't piss about just to cause a stir.

A guy who trafficked drugs and killed 3 underworld figure to, apparently, further his own position dies in prison. Why, exactly, should we care?

Being Australian I've already heard about this, why are we glorifying a convicted criminal?

Yeah, that's a shocker.

Birds fly, fish swim, a gangster died.
Hah. Couldn't had put it better.

OT: I've never heard of this person before. How is this interesting?

it's almost criminal that he survived this long! I guess he had a lot of infarctions against the law though, they just had to cardiac arrest him!
*Ba-dum-pish*

Good God, did you make that one yourself?

I'm guessing someone got jealous and wanted their own "Underbelly: Behind the bars" thing.

Sorry to hear it? Was the guy like one of your heroes or something?
And a whole bunch of others I could have quoted:

It's not the fact that he died that's the subject of concern, it's the nature of the death.

Turns out he was still corrupting people from prison, pulling government strings to get his daughter to a prestigious private school while he was gone. People start asking questions, and suddenly he turns up dead.

Even though he's supposed to be guarded 24/7.

There's something bigger afoot, and Williams is no small name in Oz. After all, the second most watched show here is all about him.

So yeah. Suspicious events are suspicious.

Hah. Its one of those things where you go "WHAT? REALLY?... well that's not that surprising really." Like if someone who hates you hits you over the head with a blunt instrument. Your surprised at the occurrence but not at the action.

Anyway, I'm most surprised no one did this sooner. Man was a mean bastard, who made a lot of enemies.

Sweet!

Now kill Michael Atkinson. You're on a fucking roll, whatever god or force is living up there!

(obvious hyperbole is obvious)

More on-topic, I don't see why this is such a big deal, I gues I kinda agree with deadman91, but I wasn't as surprised. It is just another death, after all.
