Rest in Peace the Queen of the Galaxy.

Also, 2016, chill the fuck out you **** of a year. You are like the Game of Thrones of years. On 31st I dont want you doing a last minute cull. Fucking hell!! 2017 you better not be the shitty sequel to 2016.
2015 and 14 had a large kill count to.
I don't get why everyone is so surprised. The Baby Boomer population has aged considerably, and 60 is the age where serious medical problems begin to arise. Get ready for 2017 folks, more deaths of older celebs are on the way.
You must be amazing at funerals.

No lie, I've been googling "Carrie Fisher condition" every day since the heart attack. This really sucks.

Oddly, as celebrity deaths don't on average effect me, I truly feel unhappy about this. My sympathy to fans friends and family.

I am feeling the same way. I can usually shrug off celebrity deaths with an RIP and a "They were awesome". For whatever reason, this one comes with a little more of a gut-punch than usual.

Probably because we were expecting her to have two more movie roles.

Dude, I'm not saying it's not tragic, I genuinely feel bad for her family and friends. And I'm bummed out for what this might mean for Episode 8. But with an aging population, I'm just not all that surprised. Sorry for my initial post looking cold and uncaring.

Shit that's unfortunate. Just when the franchise that made her famous made a big return with her reprising the role and its most recent installment having come out mere weeks before. Well, at least we can take the silver lining that she went out having gotten once again into the limelight, instead of drifting off to the nether as a has-been.

I bet the guys who whack off to Princess Leia in the slave costume are going to feel awkward for a good while.

As shitty as it is, this is the reality we're going to face from now on. 2017 might possibly give some reprieve, but there is no light at the end of this tunnel. The best we can do for the aging actors, musicians, artists etc. that shaped out childhoods is celebrate their work and make them feel they won't be forgotten while they're still alive.

You know... that could very well be it. One of the things I said was: "Shame they killed off Harrison Ford's character, now they're out both of them." Not exactly tactful but a serious hint of why it hits like that. And I brought it up that way to bring it up without being depressing or morbid, because I wanted to keep talking about her without being morbid. And this genuinely makes me sad and morbidly incline so I felt moderately compelled to flippancy.

This year has been just the worst possible, and there's still a few days left for it to get even worse...

And we can't even take comfort in the next year being better, as its shaping up to be so much worse.

Damn. I hoped she would recover from her heart attack. This is a sad note to end this year. RIP Carrie Fisher.

Well, this evil year has taken another celebrity away from us and now a few million fans are now crying out.

Man this year sucks really hard.

Goodbye Darth 2016.

Man, fuck this year. It's bad enough this is the year everyone lost their goddamned minds, but this is ridiculous!

And yes, I know it's a generational thing. Don't care, still pissed.

It's tragic, but I can't say this one came as a surprise. She barely looked like she was holding herself together in The Force Awakens. The lady had some mad addictions. Same with George Michael. Partying that hard will etch itself into your body quite fiercely.

Not only has this been a shitty year for me personally but it's also been the one where I've felt my youth being taken away with the death of so many people I grew up watching and listening to.

I'm sure for many a young man that Princess Leia was their first crush and I thank Carrie Fisher for bringing her to life so excellently.

Maybe all the social justice propaganda has corrupted my mind, but when I read the CNN headline "A great disturbance in the force, Millions of voices cry out at Carrie Fisher's death", I couldn't help but wonder if using witty puns/wordplay when reporting someones death is in poor taste.

Can all the "fuck you 2016" stuff be relegated to the religion and politics forum? It's an political slogan that has nothing to do with any number tragedies or deaths that occurred this year.

No. It's not just political or religious. For some and many others it's personal. Whether it's non R&P or full on R&P, it's been a shit year.

It's bad taste. But hey, they need those fucking ratings, don't they.

RIP Carrie Fisher. At this point I am loathe to say "2016 has claimed its final victim" because at this point it seems like 2016 takes this as a challenge. It is like a particularly robust virus that keeps popping up despite all measures employed to eradicate it.

I've been bummed out all day because of this. Celebrity deaths normally don't hit me that hard, but Carrie is a special case. Princess Leia was one of the first (if not the very first) strong female characters I was introduced to, and I've had a soft spot for her ever since.

Rest in peace, Carrie. You are one with the Force now.

First George Micheal, now Carrie Fischer... Can't wait for 2016 to finish.
