Cars and humans kinda go hand in hand these days. Our cars are now our noble steeds (petrol) or our trusted donkey (diesel). We use them on a daily basis and we spend a lot of our time in them and often take them for granted so i thought id ask you guys what cars mean to you?

Personally I like small fast cars. I have a small (1.1 tons) hatchback that has a pokey 2 litre 200bhp engine. I wouldnt say im a boy racer but I like to drive fast in certain circumstances when it is safe to do, sometimes its a refreshing change from the humdrum of a city commute to just blast it down a winding country road

You dont have to know the difference between a supercharger and a turbocharger (although bonus internets if you do) you just have to tells us what you like about cars. You might have a 1 litre hatchback or you might have a 6.2 litre V8 monster I dont care, I think we should celebrate all cars. A cheap gutless car at the age of 17 can often be some the fondest motoring memories

So share us your stories, tell us a bit about your car? Or maybe even a picture (ill try and get one of mine)

Edit: here is a stock picture of a car that looks a lot like mine

I doubt me and Cars would get on very well, what with him being the ultimate being and all...

Seriously tho I don't want to drive, it's too scary and I got no common sense. My favorite car has always been the Evolution Lancer though.

Its seems scary if youve never driven before but you soon get the hang of it

Which EVO is your favourite ive always had a soft spot for the EVO VIII. How they can get 3-400 bhp from a 2 litre turbo is just wizardry.

I own the latest Ford Fiesta, which I'm very happy to have as my first car and certainly feel lucky to have it. It's much easier to drive than the Peogeot 206 I learnt in, you hardly need to bother finding the bite point, it looks great, and has got a useful hill start assist function which I like. My one complaint about it is that rear visibility isn't too great, but nothing is perfect.

One thing I have to say from going from learning to drive, passing a test and driving yourself about is that you realise how much more about driving you need to learn. Skills like proper judgement only come with hours and hours spent driving yourself around. I can totally see why so many young, inexperienced drivers are caught up in accidents. One small error or misjudgement and you can fuck up big time.

Lancer 8. When I was younger somebody on my street had one and I just thought it looked amazing. It was then that I decided it's my favorite car and it's been that way ever since. :D

Well this is the car I currently drive:

(this is just a stock photo, mine is pretty much the same)

Cost me $4000, and it's fucking ridiculously reliable. I've been driving for 4 years now and it hasn't ever broken down, recently serviced and it had no major issues except for a few worn out seals.

I'm currently saving up to buy a Ford XR6 ute

My Dads owns one, and they are fucking fantastic to drive. The low end power is staggering.

My favourite car would have to be the BMW M3. Though I don't realistically see myself owning one anytime soon.

the new fezzas are a nice little car. Im guessing its a little 1.2l lump? Thats actually superb for a first car. Im not keen on the whole hill-start assist, i drove a hire car with no handbrake (you know the new style with the little button). I drove 100 miles balancing it on the clutch at every hill because i didnt trust it not to roll back

You are definitely an aussie

Seriously why do you guys love these things so much they are hideous

A reasonable M3 (obviously not the GTS) you can pick up for pretty cheap second hand (at least in the UK) which would be much better than the hillbilly yute

Hahaha can't deny it, I'm very much an Aussie.

I really would love to have an M3, but even second hand you are still looking at around 80-90 grand for a second hand one here. It's something I'll consider in maybe 10 years time, depending on where I am at in life.

Surely those utes are pretty expensive though? I wouldnt imagine theyd be much cheaper than an M3. Plus you aussies got the holden monaro which is basically an M3 for someone on a budget

Currently practicing for my license. Initially, I was terrified of just being in the driver's seat. Now, I can drive on my route to work with little problems.

Still haven't driven on the freeway yet, not looking forward to it either. :,(

A decent used XR6 of that model will set you back around 19-21 grand, I could go for an earlier model which would cost around 10-12 grand. The turbo model is pretty damn tempting as well, it would cost around 24.

The Monaro is certainly good, but I've just never found myself wanting one.

The Freeway is honestly one of the easier places to drive. Just have to watch out for idiots who don't head check when changing lanes.

First car was a 91 ford escort had that for a year then bought a used mistubishi 3000gt w 120k miles put 250k miles on it original clutch and tranny when I sold it.(everything else was junk though the 90s had terrible electronics) bought a 2012 civic cause 0% financing and good reliability/mileage. Soul sucking to drive, but I'm into motorcycles now, so i get my fix there.

Cars and me go to this "Oh you say you have a self driving car with an %97 mortality rate? Well if just %2 get you yo your destination let me have one!" yeah I fucking hate driving. Granted Once I was on a track I thought FUCK THIS IS EPIC BUT ONLY DUE TO THE FACT I AM THE ONLY CAR ON THE ROAD! so yeah love speed love power I just am overly prejudice as to how bad everyone else drives. Why Is this well three wreaks I mean totaled cars, I mean no... no i mean both as to why. Legally I totaled three cars, zero out of three are my fault but two fucks killed my car from behind and one from the passenger side so fuck cars. I want to like cars I love BBC (and even (American Top Gear) and like car shows but fuck so I hate cars!

The cars I tend to like are American Muscle and Hatchbacks and Civics. When it comes to luxury cars, my favourites are Porsche, Mustang and BMW.

My all time favourite car is...and don't ask me why as I am sure most car lovers find it ugly, I have just always loved it. My grandfather used to own one, so that is probably why. I have been in one many times, but I've never driven one, as I was only a kid. I am more into Motorcycles, but this is my dream car.

My first car was an 02 Ford Escort ZX2. Little car, decent power, good mileage, but anyone over 6' had to slump down to fit into it. Also, being a small car, it did not have much torque, at all. I live in the country and on more than one occasion I slid off the road when the car simply did not grip on a curve going over 30mph. This eventually bit me in the ass, and with the resulting insurance claim, I bought, used of course, an 02 Mustang. Larger car, people can actually fit into it, wider body, so it sticks to the road but it doesn't have the MPG the Escort did, though it's still getting better than the listed 18MPG. And that's ok. I'll take safety and a good fit over more gas mileage any day. When/if I can afford new, I dunno. I too was once a fan of the Evos and other 4WD cars. However, they can be ridiculously expensive. Anything that can get me to work in the snow and look good doing it is aces in my book.

Up until recently this was my ride:

3.0 litre straight-six, 250 horses, 0-60 in about 5 secs with special edition suspension for tearing up empty A roads (and still managing 32 mpg with my not entirely economical driving style!).

Flying round the Evo Triangle in this was an utter joy. (If you like driving and live in North Wales, Google the place, go there on a sunny day, you're welcome)

Put out to pasture because it was getting somewhat long in the tooth. Genuinely sad when I handed over the keys... :(
