Took me a week to finish. Not the longest game I've ever played but definitely longer than most games I've played recentlyMeXR said:And yeah, I fucking LOVE it, finally a great, L-O-N-G game.

to be honest i have played a lot of old castlevanias (hurray for friends whos big brothers got old old consoles and games) and watched lets plays from those that are for DS (since i dont own one and dont plan to get).FlyAwayAutumn said:Don't take this the wrong way but I almost feel like SotN is the only one you've played or at least the one that left the biggest mark on you.
Yeah I only finished it because I played it all night over the weekend.MeXR said:A week?! WOW haha..FlyAwayAutumn said:Took me a week to finish. Usually games take about two-three days to finish them. It took me 5 days to reach chapter 5 which is great!
Thanks for letting me know that it's REALLY that long![]()
Yes well SotN is a really good one so I can see how you'd like it so much. Still I like having locations outside the castle. It's boring starting out inside the castle and spending the whole game in there. I prefer going through scary graveyards/swamps/caves and such then finishing off with the castle.StrangerQ said:to be honest i have played a lot of old castlevanias (hurray for friends whos big brothers got old old consoles and games) and watched lets plays from those that are for DS (since i dont own one and dont plan to get).FlyAwayAutumn said:Don't take this the wrong way but I almost feel like SotN is the only one you've played or at least the one that left the biggest mark on you.
but yes you are correct SotN left a bloody mark on my forehead that glows when ever someone says castlevania
from all of em some how i most relate to its gameplay (perhaps the idea that it was first "metroidvania" [those who are not common with term it mean castlevanias that started to give focus on exploration etc which is nowdays a standart])
I consider it to be best castlevania i have played so it is natural that i prefer to compare others to it
its a good game, but it makes me feel stupid with all the puzzles that take me forever to figure out.FlyAwayAutumn said:So Castlevania: Lords of Shadow is out and being the CV fan I am I bought it immediately (Limited edition, got a bitchin' t-shirt) and I was wondering how many people have also bought/rented/whatevered it, and what you think about it.
Basically here's my questions:
Have you gotten Castlevania: Lords of Shadow and if so what do you think of it
Are you a long time CV fan
If yes to second question how do you think this new one holds up compared to previous titles
And another thing, I fucking love it. Though if you aren't a previous fan you might not like it or think it's a god of war rip off, but if you weren't a fan before why did you get it now? Anyway I love it and recommend anyone interested to at least rent it.
The puzzles? I thought they were too easy it was almost insulting even the one with Pan I solved by accidentSpireOfFire said:its a good game, but it makes me feel stupid with all the puzzles that take me forever to figure out.FlyAwayAutumn said:So Castlevania: Lords of Shadow is out and being the CV fan I am I bought it immediately (Limited edition, got a bitchin' t-shirt) and I was wondering how many people have also bought/rented/whatevered it, and what you think about it.

BTW, this is NOT a castlevania game. they just slapped the castlevania logo on it and gave the main character a belmont name.
and the ending sucked, too.
