i've been chasing raikou on soul silver for 5 days now, 1 health, asleep and mean look so he can't run. I'm wandering if anyone has any good suggestions on catching him. something better than an ultra ball or something else i can do 2 make him weaker, anything.

Play to their weaknesses, and then use a weak move like tackle or cut or somethingcrappy to wittle him down to the red. I never try catching anything til it's in the red.xAFROMANx said:
I like using moves that cant kill them, only take em to 1 health, helps alot when trying to catch something so you dont accedtally kill/make it faint.
honestly, i confused, put to sleep, and used false swipe with mean look it still took me a good 20 tries in the original Gold to catch entei. good luck
the way I caught him was I used a repel with a LV 39, I used Gengar b/c hes faster then Raikou, at the front of my team then when I got into a battle with him I had Gengar use mean look then hypnosis. Once Raikou was asleep I switched gengar out with a LV 100, you could probably use a lower level then I did, Scizor then made him use false swipe that knocked Raikou down to one HP then I used an ultra ball. Using the down+B method isn't a bad idea either.
I was pissed off with trying to get them on the original gold so I ended up using a cheat to clone my master ball so I could get every single one. No achievement but still I found it easier.
If it's on 1hp and asleep, there's nothing more you can do to make it easier, however using a different type of ball should help, Ultra's are good all-rounders, but you can boost your chances with the specialist balls. Fast balls are your friend in this case, being twice as good as Ultras when used on anything that flees from battle. (They also use up those not-so-great white apricorns).

You can meet them on water! Makes sense in one of their cases, but that one waits patiently now, doesn't make that much sense for the other two however.xAFROMANx said:

Yo just have to get lucky. If it's 1 health you can't do the one thing that is guaranteed to catch- Burn.
Sure you only get 1 or two chances to catch the poke with it burned, but that's what reloading the last save is for.
Now you just have to get lucky. Start using status damaging moves. Things that lower the poke's stats seem to help.
