CBN contributor Kimberly Daniels, a self described "recognized prophetic voice," wrote an article for Pat Robertson's Christian Broadcasting Network against Halloween claiming, "most of the candy sold during this season has been dedicated and prayed over by witches."

Daniels also warned of sex with demons and revel nights. And that witches on brooms, mummies, werewolves and Dracula "actually exist."

A good portion of the article is below:

"During Halloween, time-released curses are always loosed. A time-released curse is a period that has been set aside to release demonic activity and to ensnare souls in great measure ? During this period demons are assigned against those who participate in the rituals and festivities. These demons are automatically drawn to the fetishes that open doors for them to come into the lives of human beings. For example, most of the candy sold during this season has been dedicated and prayed over by witches.

I do not buy candy during the Halloween season. Curses are sent through the tricks and treats of the innocent whether they get it by going door to door or by purchasing it from the local grocery store. The demons cannot tell the difference.

Even the colors of Halloween (orange, brown and dark red) are dedicated. These colors are connected to the fall equinox, which is around the 20th or 21st of September each year and is sometimes called "Mabon." During this season witches are celebrating the changing of the seasons from summer to fall. They give praise to the gods for the demonic harvest. They pray to the gods of the elements (air, fire, water and earth).

Mother earth is highly celebrated during the fall demonic harvest. Witches praise mother earth by bringing her fruits, nuts and herbs. Demons are loosed during these acts of worship. When nice church folk lay out their pumpkins on the church lawn, fill their baskets with nuts and herbs, and fire up their bonfires, the demons get busy. They have no respect for the church grounds. They respect only the sacrifice and do not care if it comes from believers or non-believers.

...

Halloween is much more than a holiday filled with fun and tricks or treats. It is a time for the gathering of evil that masquerades behind the fictitious characters of Dracula, werewolves, mummies and witches on brooms. The truth is that these demons that have been presented as scary cartoons actually exist. I have prayed for witches who are addicted to drinking blood and howling at the moon.

While the lukewarm and ignorant think of these customs as "just harmless fun," the vortexes of hell are releasing new assignments against souls. Witches take pride in laughing at the ignorance of natural men (those who ignore the spirit realm).

Decorating buildings with Halloween scenes, dressing up for parties, going door-to-door for candy, standing around bonfires and highlighting pumpkin patches are all acts rooted in entertaining familiar spirits. All these activities are demonic and have occult roots.

The word "occult" means "secret." The danger of Halloween is not in the scary things we see but in the secret, wicked, cruel activities that go on behind the scenes. These activities include:

* Sex with demons
* Orgies between animals and humans
* Animal and human sacrifices
* Sacrificing babies to shed innocent blood
* Rape and molestation of adults, children and babies
* Revel nights
* Conjuring of demons and casting of spells
* Release of "time-released" curses against the innocent and the ignorant."

It's all become so damn PC. We can't even sacrifice people to our dark overlords of hell without people judging us these days. Honestly.

I'm off to a halloween party in about 20 minutes, so if what this guy says is true it should be a good night.

And this is why we can't have sarcasm on the internet anymore.

Because if I joked about this, someone might take me seriously. :|

Well, on the positive side, when the fundies shoot their idiot mouths off on the Internet, we have no qualms about ripping them apart immediately. If only the local news had as much brutal integrity.

They aren't even historically accurate come to think of it. October used to be a time of Pagan celebrations of the end of the summer. All Saint's Day (November 1) was actually created to combat the Pagan holidays by the Catholic Church. All Halloween is is the day before. It's technically a Catholic holiday.

So essentially these Christians are protesting a holiday they created...and the most depressing part is this doesn't surprise me.

yea, the catholic church in the early centuries made all pagan holidays catholic holidays so they could appeal to more people and get more followers. That's why Christmas is held in winter rather than the season Jesus was believed to be born in, there was a pagan holiday in december that they used

So, do the candy companies just get temp witches for candy cursing, or is it just a year round worker doing a side thing? Is that something to put on your resume that might get extra attention if you wanted to apply to the Hershey company or whatever? Maybe in the skills section? XD

Why do people get into such a huffy over Halloween? Even if it was really about cult worshiping and raising the damned. Well if it was I would prolly sit in my house with a shotgun tweaked on fear/adrenaline/energy drink praying to all that is good and holy.

Not all but three of the most important ones (Christmas, Halloween, and Easter). The Christian invaders had a hard time persuading the indiginous populations to give up their old religions, so it kind of happened that the two merged to some degree, then an oppressive Christian heirarchy formed with the blessing of the state, and that buried most of the old Paganism (although it did float around).

Paganism has re-emerged though (I am one).

Ohh and just a heads up Nurb - next time you start a thread like this you might want to make it clear in the op this isn't about religion in general but certain extremists. Most people will understand this without you needing to point it out, but we have a small number of extremely aggressive and fanatical atheists here who will try to turn this into a edict that all Christians must convert or die.

what 'christian invaders' are you talking about? historicly, the christians were part of the eastern roman empire before it collapsed and jerusalem overtaken by muslims later on, they were the invaders which reached and seiged the Byzantine's Constantinople, which prompted the crusades and re-invading the holy lands. Of course before christianity existed it belonged to the jews under the romans.

at the time when all of these holidays were overtaken by the catholic church, rome was already established with an official religion and the northern barbarian tribes all adopted it during the early dark ages to gain support for themselves, and there was no invasion there either, just oppression of the minorities within the countries and tribes that adopted it. I'm not fond of catholics, but be angry at them for the right things
