Won't changing your name bring about more trouble?
Whatever, If i had to change my name it would be Mathew Hopkins, Witchfinder.

EDIT: I want to change my middle name, it's Petros Angelou which sounds like Maya Angelou...
lame..

What could go with Samuel Broderick
Cthulu?

No, how about Matthew? So you could claim to be Matthew Broderick?

Anyway, OP, that sounds fine.

I'm quite lucky cause one of my family members was a old famous singer who comes from my town as whenever I mention it to anyone there like 'You related to ...'

A cookie to anyone who can guess the celebrity.
My name is Christopher Burt (We share last names)
Hes half germens
Bass guitarist and singer
Hes 'just like eddy'
Should I feel ashamed if I can't guess who you're talking about?
Nah, Come on lets here who you think it is.

Change it.
You both get rid of your tainted old name and get a nice new one.
I approve.

I know how you feel, my Step-dad is in jail for "Sexual" misconduct and I am very happy indeed that I don't share his last name.

OT: As long as its not a bad name or silly I don't see anything wrong with changing ones name to something else. If I had the chance (and was not lazy) I would change mine legally to Milo Hugo Windby.

For some reason my first thought was "Michael"...
England has some naming rules, right?
*twitch* I'm Scottish, not English
Erm, I knew that, sorry. Make that UK.
Anyway, I take the question back. <url=http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/uk_news/magazine/6939112.stm>BBC says you have one of the most liberal set of rules for that. Then I'd say get Danger.
"Don't worry, Danger is my middle name!"

If you really feel that uncomfortable about your name, go ahead. Just make sure you're ready for the lengthy and dare I say expensive process.
I had my name changed 2 years ago so that instead of just having my dad's last name I would also have my mom's last name. I would have done it sooner but changing you name between age 5 and 17 is WAAAY more trouble than its worth.
Good luck with whichever option you choose.

Someone in the year above me in secondary school changed his name to Optimus Prime. He was a little weird. I wont ever change my name, as I want to carry on my family's name, but I think if I get into the music industry I'll give myself a stage name. Just to make the alter-ego thing more convincing.

Change it if you want, but make sure you're 100% certain that is what you want to do, Else you're going to have to go through some pretty embarrassing trails and court-cases, or so I've heard.
I suggest changing it to "Baldacchino" or "Sciberras", my surnames:p. Both meant you come from Sicilian nobility ;).

Ugh.. I remember when my mum finally decided to take my stepdads last name after 8 years of marriage. She actually asked me "if I didn't want to, kinda take it too?.. As a middle name?". I mean, come on!

1. Why would I want my stepdads name? - I would only do that if I respected the man like a semi-god.
2. My last name is the most Danish name ever! Taking his name would make me "Kasper Pilgrim Henriksen".
3. Fuck. That looks awesome on text.

OT: I think you should go for it. Sounds good.

I hate my name.

It's one of the most boring, generic and commonly used names in the English speaking world. I so wish I could change it.

Anyway, your suggestion sounds fine. Go for it.
Ditto. I'm changing my surname for that exact reason. No reason quite as elaborate or unfortunate as the OP, but simply because I'm bored of my common surname: 'Smith', if you hadn't already guessed. I'm changing to 'Castleton', as a family thing since we all feel similarly, and may change my middle name to 'Phoenix' just to be pretentious. Joshua Phoenix Castleton...well I like it! :D
