Ditto. I'm changing my surname for that exact reason. No reason quite as elaborate or unfortunate as the OP, but simply because I'm bored of my common surname: 'Smith', if you hadn't already guessed. I'm changing to 'Castleton', as a family thing since we all feel similarly, and may change my middle name to 'Phoenix' just to be pretentious.
